Fediletch realized someone was shaking him awake and groaned, reaching up to rub his eyes before sitting up and blinking around at all the commotion. Everyone was rushing, pulling on their candidate robes, and the sheer amount of chatter made it hard to discern what was going on. Someone was telling him to get ready so he got up, shuffling over to change into his ever slightly too small candidate robes. It was just yesterday that they had touched the eggs and he'd met some of the baby dragons, so why were they getting dressed up?
He barely managed to comb his hair before shuffling out the door and supplemented it with his fingers as he looked around, still confused, still curious. It didn't quite dawn on him until they were halfway to the sands and he started to pay attention to the buzz around him that the eggs were getting ready to hatch. Fetch's eyes widened and a grin became plastered on his face. The dragons were hatching! The babies would be out in the world and picking their riders and he hoped he would be one of them.
"They're hatching! It's early isn't it?" There were a few looks, a quick reminder from someone he didn't recognize that yes, that was what everyone had been talking about and welcome to the conversation. Fetch brushed it off, still grinning and too excited that he was going to his first hatching to care about much else. He ran his fingers through his hair to try and straighten it further once they reached the sands. There were so many people in attendance, he was sure the babies would be able to find someone they likes, he just hoped the ones he talked to the other day hadn't found any they liked more than him. But if they did that was fine, maybe he could still visit and say hi to the babies afterwards.
