Tazikel was almost positive he’d heard the name Casa before, and if she was a goldrider it was probably at the Hatching. Had it been her dragon’s clutch? But if Azrin was ‘somewhat close’ to her - and Tazikel certainly caught some of the implications there - why wouldn’t he have gone to the Hatching? Even if he’d been told not to waste his time. It didn’t really make sense. Maybe he had heard her name in another context. Had Mylorah had mentioned her at some point? He couldn’t remember. Again, he’d been distracted.
“If you take your boots of my bed and keep them off I might tell you,” Tazikel said sweetly, smiling at Azrin. “And what would you need to keep an eye on her for, from yourself?” There wasn’t anything Tazikel could think of she’d need to be monitored for. It wasn’t like she was his wife and he was supposed to be sure she wasn’t off having some other man’s children or whatever. They were hardly exclusive, so he hardly needed someone to report back on who she was sleeping with when he wasn’t around. Tazikel didn’t actually care. She was interesting and he liked her, but that didn’t mean he needed to know every detail of her life. What an Azrin thing to want to know.
