Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Clinging to her Papa, hearing his own sobs was somehow reassuring, even as it was breaking her heart all over again. She was the cause of this. She was the cause of all his pain and suffering over the past week, and who knew how much pain she was going to cause him in the future, because she’d begged to go to the Hatching, because she’d been so sure she would never Impress… and then Zezeth had upended everything and Madiquel felt even more guilty about that, because she loved her little green dragon, and she could never, ever go back to being without her – and that, by itself, was a huge fear of Madiquel’s, that made her feel even more guilty. She didn’t want to end up like her Papa. Not like that. Not ever, ever like that. Madiquel kept crying, clinging to Jajojin, soaking his shirt with her tears.
When he started untangling them, Madiquel clung tighter before finally allowing her Papa freedom, following him as Jajojin lead her over to the couch, sitting down beside her Papa, Madiquel returned to clinging to him, glued to his side and sniffling. Madiquel clung to the hand he was holding hers with, wiping at her face with the other hand. In the shadows, Zezeth watched quietly; both she and Madiquel had known the reunion would be emotional, and Zezeth prided herself on being much more put together than (for example!) Dyoricath who would have had a meltdown at all the affection, love, and contact between the father and daughter. Zezeth was, while not happy, not convinced the world was about to end. She could feel Madiquel’s confusion, her guilt, her joy and her fear. Zezeth wanted to take those emotions away, to have her pretty human be a happy and bubbly girl again, but she knew that couldn’t happen for a bit.
Madiquel sniffled, drawing her feet up onto the couch and curling them under herself. “Okay,” she said, quite honestly. The first few days had been rough, and she still had nights where she was afraid to sleep. Whenever that happened, it seemed as if Zezeth and Clover conspired against her and TayTay would conveniently visit and Madiquel would fall asleep leaning against her best friend before they’d have a proper visit where she’d catch him up on the latest ups and downs. “It really wasn’t,” Madiquel said, the words coming out on a resigned sigh, feeling exhausted after the emotional meltdown. She sighed again, and tilted her head against Jajojin’s shoulder to peer up at him, eyebrows furrowed and lips pouty. “I really am sorry, Papa.” Her lips trembled as tears threatened once more. “B-but everyone th-thought she was d-dead. They were keening, Papa!” she gripped his hand hard, the horror of that moment rippling through her, and she heard Zezeth shuffle – or maybe she felt it, more than heard it, because it didn’t seem like Papa noticed.
“Do… do you want to meet her?” she asked timidly, eyebrows furrowing again, looking anxious and slightly sick.
