Jajojin wrapped his arms around Madiquel and quietly wept alongside her. He saw D'hys close the door as he silently excused himself before closing his eyes and delighting in having his daughter back. It wasn't like he hadn't seen her since she left for the Hall as they got together frequently for lunch and an afternoon together. But it had felt like a lifetime since he had seen her with the last week being the longest of his life. He had worried so much for her and now that he had her in his arms, he didn't want to let go again. Nothing would harm his baby girl again!
"I'm the one that's sorry. I should have come sooner. I tried, but I was too weak. I don't even deserve your forgiveness for that." Jajojin's low rumbling voice was broken up with his sobs. He was a horrible father for not being there for her! He should have been there when she Impressed as well and it didn't matter that it was unplanned and she was only going as a spectator. He knew he was a useless broken man but that wasn't good enough a reason to keep him away! Yet it had been, for too long. But he was there now and R'nya and Fort Weyr be damned! He'd stay in Ista as long as his daughter wished him to.
He finally managed to untangle them from the hug and had control over his weeping, but he continued holding one of her hands as he led Madiquel to the couch. They were both emotional messes and he felt sitting would do them a lot better than standing until legs gave out. "How are you doing, baby girl? This wasn't a part of your big plan but I know... the joy and... completion... that comes with Impressing. You must be going through so much right now. Tell your Papa everything."
