The unexpected greeting had Quinton practically trying to jump over the horse with a yelp, brushes falling with a clatter. The horse snorted and danced away, "Steady." A comforting hand landed on the horse's neck while the stablehand made soothing sounds. He didn't respond to the visiting lordling until Dasher had calmed down, "Good morning, my lord." Surely he was facing a lord, right? With the horse calmed, he knelt to begin gathering the brushes again, "Looking to go for a ride?" His voice was carefully neutral and polite, as was only the proper way for a lowly stablehand to speak to someone of rank. Especially when that someone was visiting! He offered a small bow, "I can get one of the horses saddled up for you, if you like. It won't take more than a moment."
There went Quinton's plan of going for a ride himself, though...
He patted Dasher's neck again, before dropping the brushes back into the bucket, "I've got a beauty that would be perfect for you. He's got an excellent gait." And the gelding was his second favorite. He didn't bother mentioning that getting a horse saddled would delay his assigned duties. It was his job to make sure that any guest of the Lord Holder or his family were able to go riding if they wished, after all.
