L’gan didn’t flinch as the young man made a fist; he’d been punched before and likely would again. But the hit never came; at least, not a physical punch.
The healer blanched as the candidate gave voice to a very real fear; what if these dragonets impressed but didn’t survive? He looked over the terribly young faces of the assembled group and felt his stomach flip uncomfortably. He wished once again that he could have asked--begged--Sariel not to stand. He knew how selfish and hypocritical that was, but the thought of her clever mind driven into grieving madness terrified him. His grasp loosened and he felt Kordiavis pull free, but didn’t attempt to stop him again.
L’gan… another egg… He looked up, shaking his head slightly as if to dislodge the maudlin thoughts. His normally bubbly green had paled and her eyes whirled anxiously, unsure whether to welcome this baby as well. Go ahead and hum, sweetheart. We may as well welcome them with as much cheer as we can summon. Still unsure, Semath began to hum again, though quieter than before.
