A'tay saw daily what Nerreh and Faxxonth went through because they won a stupid Flight--the stupid Flight that he had sort of entered and ducked out of quick enough that no one really seemed to notice Xyxyth had been there at all. He had lucked out but his classmate hadn't and it angered him at how big of a deal some people were making it. Sure, blues weren't supposed to win golds but it had happened and they all just had to deal with it.
He hated to admit it, especially since they still had yet to graduate, but he threw around his bronze status as much as he could--at least with some of the younger riders and especially with his classmates. He didn't dare try telling off men that had been riding dragons longer than he'd been alive but he may have glared in their direction at times, hoping they saw it and worried if he'd remember them down the line when it would matter because he was older and had more power over them.
Otherwise, he offered silent support to Nerreh and hung out with the pair when he could. Xyxyth still liked Faxxonth despite learning he wasn't a she so if the blue pair wasn't in hiding, A'tay tried to hang out with Nerreh. It didn't hurt that Nerreh was friends with some of his siblings so he could get a bigger group together.
Now that the Hatching was finally upon them, A'tay was relieved. He hoped something resembling normal would return for Nerreh and Faxxonth but that all depended on the eggs. He was currently waiting on his (temporary, if he was serious about moving) ledge, watching the sky with Xyxyth for the return of their classmates. When they finally did arrive, A'tay could just imagine what was going through their heads when they realised what they had come back to. He smiled, though, when the pair went down to the Sands and he quickly jumped on Xyxyth to join them.
When he got there, he was surprised at the number in the stands and hoped that meant people supported it and weren't there to be jerks. As they had planned, Xyxyth went to stand by Faxxonth to show his continued support of clutch brother and friend and A'tay headed to the stands to sit in an empty seat by B'jin and R'nd. As he went, he purposely called out a greeting to Nerreh, smiling and waving in the process. He then greeted Casa as well since she was kind of a friend as well thanks to being friends with his older siblings and he didn't have anything against her or Thallyath either.
As he joined his family, A'tay sat straight and proud, ignoring any glares he may have been given for the show of support. It was honestly taking a lot of willpower to not shrink into himself or run away but Xyxyth had been good for his confidence--and being surrounded by two other bronzeriders, a Weyrlingmaster, and two blueriders that seemed to be adored by many helped a lot as well.
