Beckitt felt his heart jump into his throat as he waited for a reaction when J’shom paused. The night air seemed suddenly thin and he realized he was holding his breath. But all for nothing; the greenrider seemed to brush it off as distraction and got back to his task. Beckitt hid a pout as he resoaked the cloth and straightened back up.
He waited a few moments, then sidestepped more deliberately into J’shom’s space. Kitt brushed his hand again, slower, eyes darting over to check his expression.
