“Of course, how could I forget?” Nerreh said rolling her eyes. “Girls can’t remember anything important. Oh wait, maybe that’s why I forgot.” Goldriders were generally treated as more competent than most women, but it didn’t surprise Nerreh in the slightest that Casa had experience with people ‘just a girl’ing her. Typical. It’s not like the dragon population relied on golds and their riders to survive or anything. None of that required even a little intelligence or whatever from goldriders, apparently.
There was no way Nerreh had forgotten the drama that was trying to get all the golds North from Katila. What a fucking disaster, and the leadership seemed so surprised by it, too. Not that Nerreh was anywhere close to someone important, but that was the impression she’d gotten. She’d been a self-interested teen, not blind, and far too many people were taken aback by the golds not being able to between. At least on a fighter, no matter what color Faxx was, they’d be taught everything with everyone else, including betweening. Though Nerreh doubted any of the Weyrleaders would make the same mistake with the golds again. There wasn’t a gold in their class, but if there were, Nerreh would bet on her learning to between with the rest of them. Or at least, at the same time, even if not with them-with them.
She considered the graduation possibility Casa presented. “I’m not sure popping over to Telgar to see my family who’s been visiting me here all the damn time is the same kind of celebration going back to a Hold after turns away would be. I’m not that nostalgic for Telgar, and I’ve seen pretty much everybody at least once I’ll need to think of something else. Doing absolutely nothing just sounds boring.” Nerreh sighed dramatically, bemoaning the lack of good options. Though maybe… “I suppose I could go to Katila. Maybe round up all us Katila ‘brats and take a graduation weekend? Hmnn…” she trailed off, thinking. That was actually not a bad idea, if she could get other people to go along with it. Maybe A’tay? If she asked nicely and promised there would be no orgies?
