Casa laughed, nodding in understanding at the quip about the young dragon wanting to graduate already. “At least you’re not pulling double duty,” Casa said mildly, glancing around quickly before leaning across the table and scrunching her nose up. “Everyone glorifies a gold hide, but honestly, its so boring!” Well, the lessons, anyway. Casa rather enjoyed the awed Holders, and the fact that no one seemed quite prepared to question her promiscuous attitude towards, well, any man that she deemed attractive.
“I’m sure things will spice up, if she ever decides to Fly, though.” It was one of the few exciting things she got to gossip about with the other younger goldriders – or, well, any goldrider not mated. They were kind of boring, cooing and awing over their mate winning them – or the drama that came if they didn’t. Casa didn’t mind if Thallyath found herself a mate and settled down, so long as the little gold queen didn’t expect Casa to have any more to do with the rider than she wanted to. Casa herself was well aware of many of the rumours and gossip circulating about her, not the least of which was that she should have Impressed to a green (though, to be fair, they really weren’t that much more sexual than any other dragon! Casa was almost sure that if she sat down and did the numbers, the boys likely won flights at least as often as the infrequent flying greens…)
“You don’t have that long to go though, do you? You’re almost ten months now, and graduation is fifteen months. Less than half a turn!” Casa drenched the words in a combination of false excitement and thick sarcasm, tossing an eyeroll in at the end to make sure Nerreh knew she understood how long those five months were bound to be; most likely anyone else within hearing would just think the blonde ditz was doing her ditzy blonde thing. That worked for Casa; if M’ris actually came to accept that she wasn’t as dumb as he thought she was, Casa was afraid her workload would become quite a bit heavier, and her playtime would suffer as a result.
That could not happen!
