Tal was genuinely surprised by how quickly B'jin gave up. Newly determined, Talian leapt at the man. "You're a horrible man!" Tal spat playfully as he toppled on top of the greenrider, tickling him mercilessly.
For those few minutes, Tal was genuinely happy. He'd had his moments throughout his stay, but they were few and far between, and almost always tinged with a distant hint of bitterness. It was hard to get absolutely everything out of his mind. His negative nature and his complete inability to process change didn't help, and combined with his seeming inability to forget his old connections, it really turned into a mess. At that moment, however, Tal wasn't thinking about any of them.
"YES, more!" Tal said with playful vindictiveness as he continued, throwing himself on top of B'jin. The healer kept the game going until his fingers ached and he had to stop, settling finally on a playful swat at B'jin's head before collapsing back on the grass. Talian hadn't realized how tired he was, or how good he felt. Not until right then.
He smiled a little bit, though he kept the warm feeling to himself. Instead, he just clutched close to B'jin once more. "Thanks," he said in response to the last comment. It felt good to smile. He rarely felt he had anything to smile about anymore (had he ever?), so rarely that he'd forgotten how good it felt.
"I don't know what I'd do without you," Tal said at length, almost a little bit embarrassed. B'jin was probably the single best thing that had ever happened to him, but he couldn't admit that even to himself. That would make his kidnapping 'okay', and that wasn't ever going to sit well with the young man. He couldn't imagine his resentment ever fading away, but B'jin? B'jin was worth it, even if the healer didn't want to actually consciously tell himself that.
So instead, he just squeezed again. "Thanks...I really needed to get out..."
