Quinvalis felt the Hatching was going rather well, if a bit slow. There had only been one mauling and the boy was still standing near him, acting like it was just a little scratch. He had seen the injury, and it was more than that but he respected the decision to stay. Would he do the same thing in that position? He was close to finding out if he had picked that spot instead of where he ended up standing. But depending on the injury and how badly he wanted a dragon, he'd probably still stay on the Sands. Given that he didn't know if he wanted to Impress at Telgar or not, he'd probably use the injury as an excuse to bow out--and then feel guilty about it the entire time since so many people came for him.
He decided that since he was there, healthy, and everyone was rooting for him, he might as well hope for a dragon as well. It would have been cool to have one from Xyreith's clutch but maybe that wasn't in the cards for him and he should just be happy with what he got. Not sure if determination really helped or not, Quinvalis put his all into giving off good vibes and showing he was ready to Impress. He didn't even know what colour he wanted, but any time a dragonet looked his way, he stood taller and mentally shouted happy thoughts.
During all the commotion of the dragonets bursting free all over the clutch, Quinvalis did his best to keep an eye on the two eggs he had touched. It was one of the first things he did when he entered. Most of the eggs looked a lot alike but some had distinguishing features, like the ones he had been drawn to. The inquisitive dragonet that had thrown question after question at him had finally decided to make his appearance and Quinvalis wasn't surprised it was a bronze. Xyreith didn't talk to him, but he did always seem to know what was going on, keeping an eye on everything. So it seemed like a trait a bronze would have; demanding to know who was near him and what they wanted.
Unfortunately, that interview hadn't been enough to impress the little guy and Quinvalis watched as he Impressed to another boy. That was okay! There were plenty of other eggs to hatch and the other one he had chatted with was one of them. But as he watched the bronze and his rider walk away, he couldn't help feeling a bit sad that they weren't meant for each other and his original thought that the dragonet wouldn't remember him that day came back to him. The other one wouldn't remember him either. Would it be silly of him to go say hi to the bronze later on to see if any memory or familiarity remained?
