Vessaelia laughed and waved off the constant words of gratitude. It was just a bath! And it was hardly out of her way. In fact, most of the trip had been the direction she had been going anyway so it really wasn’t any hardship. But she did have to concede the point that sharing with a bunch of young boys really wasn’t her idea of fun either. “Okay, that is a fair point that I never really thought about. I guess I usually go in a gaggle of girls so we probably scare the young boys away.”
She wasn’t quite sure if Tala was just scouting a bathing room to use in the future or to use now, but Vessaelia figured it didn’t hurt to excuse herself either way, especially since she wanted to put her kit away and start getting ready for bed. She didn’t have a preference one way or the other when it came to staying up late or rising early, but she found she got a lot more done if she woke early. Unless she had a good –handsome—reason to stay up late.
“Since you’re already here and no one else is, might as well enjoy yourself! I’m heading back to my room but I’ll see you later,” Vessaelia smiled at Tala, happy she helped the woman and got to know her a little bit more on their walk. She felt they could be friends and found herself starting to look forward to the idea of going out to the Hold to do all the cold season things they could squeeze into one day.
She bid Tala a good night and slipped out the door with a bounce to her step, the dark hall momentarily not as scary.
