Lucky for Xyliah, she didn’t need permission from the riders for the young dragons to be interested in her. Faxxonth, for one, was intrigued by the newcomer. She was so very enthusiastic about them, wasn’t she? How fun. Despite not being the most socially adept dragonet in the Weyr, Faxxonth was intensely curious and wanted to find out if this new person would be fun to play with. The little ‘green’ ambled over to Xyliah, managing to only stumble a little bit on the way.
Nerreh watched Faxxonth a bit apprehensively. Her dragon had already shown a penchant for entertaining herself at the expense of others, and Nerreh wasn’t keen on Faxxonth messing with a Lady, as M’ris had introduced her to be — which was a whole ‘nother thing, she didn’t usually have the Weyrleader speaking to her at all, let alone asking her to entertain a Lady while he had to deal with something. She would have worried about what to do if Lady Xyliah hadn’t been so excited about the young dragons. Which was fair, they were pretty damn cute. Faxxonth especially, but Nerreh was biased. A little bit.
Despite Nerreh’s concern, Faxxonth was behaving. For now. She inspected the new human, sniffing her curiously (she smelled rather strongly of flowers) and gently nosing at her cloud of curly hair. The curls bounced at the gentle touch and Faxxonth squeaked in surprise, staring wide eyed at Xyliah. Nerreh snickered, utterly entertained by her dragon’s antics, but figured she may need to apologize to the Lady, just in case.
“Sorry about her,” Nerreh said through her grin, laughter audible in the words, “She’s friendly, I promise.” Watching Faxxonth reach out again to poke at another curl, Nerreh bit her lip to keep from laughing too much. Lady might get offended. Ladies got offended easy, didn’t they? That’s what Nerreh had heard anyway.
