As soon as Mylorah had reclaimed the spot on the bed next to him Misha rolled onto his side and slung an arm over her back, pulling her as close to his side as possible, still grinning. “They’re what, seventeen to twenty-two turn old boys? They interpret everything as sexual,” Misharan snorted, “I can confirm that one from personal experience. And besides,” he said, drawing out the word, “I’m pretty sure gossiping and catching up involves mentioning sex, no?” he teased.
The inevitability of the boys telling stories about them didn’t bother Misha in the slightest. Oh no, people would think he was having sex, how awful. Hah. It wouldn’t stop men from approaching him, as most people in the Weyrs tended to go both ways anyway, and he had to turn down the occasional girl already, so it wouldn’t really change anything. People thinking he had some sort of tryst with Mylorah wouldn’t keep him from getting laid, and all attention was good attention in Misharan’s mind (at least most of the time).
He gave her a gentle pat on the head at the admission Ista had been boring. “Sorry, Mylo, couldn’t let the baby dragons risk Hatching without my wonderful self there. Next time I’ll just insist you come with whether or not there’s a gold egg. I doubt anyone would really complain if you just swapped Weyrs for a bit.” Misharan ran his fingers through her hair, trying to express how much he appreciated her being there with the physical affection.
“Oh, you know, gradually working my way through the Candidates and as many dragonriders as possible. The usual,” Misha teased, winking exaggeratedly at her. Not that he was constantly trying to seduce everyone he met, but there wasn’t much else to do as a Candidate other than chores and getting laid. He’d made a few friends that way too. He smiled at the message from Kordiavis, then sighed dramatically and flopped his face into the mattress, “I take it that means he’s not joining us here? How terribly unfortunate.” Misharan liked Kordiavis, he was nice to talk to (and to look at) and they’d had a good time together on Casa’s memorable camping trip. They’d even spent a little time together after camping before Misha had returned to Telgar. “You don’t think we can convince him to visit for a few days at least, do you?” he asked Mylorah with a pout, “even if he doesn’t stay and Stand or anything.”
