Indivara flashed a wicked grin, perhaps the first time she’d pulled such an expression and not been internally horrified by the way it twisted her scarring. She lifted a hand, brushing her fingers along the line that dipped over her lip and she tossed a wink at R’vi, not bothering to add any words to the action. She’d been fuelling rumours about how she’d gotten her scars since she started training with B’jin. Of course, the vast majority of individuals knew the story, but she’d also been mangled for so long that even those who knew, were prone to exaggeration. She had found it a great deal of entertainment to make up stories and watch them grow between the candidates.
It was especially fun when the riders got in on it, and added quips here or there that caused things to just bloom out of proportion. Of course, there were always those who came along with their nose in the air and tried to set things right, but they never really succeeded. Especially since Indivara hadn’t voiced a whole-truth about what had happened in Turns. Bits of the truth? Sure! But the whole thing? Or enough pieces to put together the whole truth? Don’t be absurd!
“You’d get bored watching me taunt kids all day,” she teased, shaking her head slightly at R’vi before sipping her water. She did eye him playfully over the rim of her glass as she lowered it slowly though. “I’m sure you can find other ways to make them tremble,” she said, drawing the final word out with a look of mock innocence, as if she wasn’t implying anything at all with such a sentence or emphasis.
“I’ll send Queenie with a note whenever stuff is going to happen that’s worthy of an audience,” she promised. He’d hear about the Hatching, no doubt and she definitely wanted all of her friends to be there. Indivara wasn’t fond of Hatchings, for reasons her close friends were well aware of. The only good thing that had ever happened to her on the Sands, was Impressing Venseth!
