Misharan had never really expected that he would fairly regularly interact with dragon eggs. To be fair, the dragons had fled South before he was born and the Holds thought them gone for good, but still. Even after they’d returned he’d not thought he’d get to meet one. Hoped maybe, but not actually believed it. And now he was preparing to ‘meet’ a clutch of dragon eggs for the… twelfth time? No, thirteenth. Over three turns of this. And it was still super exciting each time. The Hatching itself more-so than the Touching, but the Touching was still exciting.
Within a few touchings Misharan had developed a sort of Touching ritual; wait for the go ahead, close his eyes, shake his head a bit, open his eyes and walk towards the egg most directly ahead of him. Repeat as long as necessary. Today the first egg he spotted was a fairly nondescript grayish tan egg of medium size, and it was currently unattended by another Candidate. He headed over to it, pausing a few feet away to say hello to it, speaking out loud, and telling it he was here to say hello and would be touching it. He had no idea if the eggs could hear speech, but Misharan felt better giving them a bit of a warning before touching them. Maybe he was weird, but whatever. Better to be polite, just in case.
Greeting given, Misha reached out a hand and gently rested it upon the egg. He waited patiently for the dragonet inside to decide if it wanted to reach out to him.
Apparently, it did, and within a few moments Misharan could feel a little tendril of curiosity pressing against his mind. He sent back encouragement to it, letting the egg ‘explore’ his memories and emotions, encouraging it to connect with him. Did he think this particular egg would hatch for him in a few days? Misha had no idea. Maybe, maybe not, but he felt that they all deserved the chance to connect with people, find out what they wanted in a lifemate. This egg in particular seemed to appreciate that, as far as Misharan could tell from its limited communication. He stayed with it until the presence receded, seemingly satisfied with its exploration. With a little pat to the surface of the shell, Misharan stepped away from the egg.
“Good luck.” He said, before closing his eyes to start the process of finding another egg to stop by.
Egg 7: Cloud
Reaction: Receptive
