Since Vydoriath was looking after Veeth, V’ler realised he was now stuck with the program of Venseth on the ice. He turned back to his friends in time to see R’vi clutching his side in pain, likely from being punched for his usual humorous take on the situation. Given he was only one of the three that had winter experience, V’ler knew he was going to be looked to for a solution and he really didn’t have one. Some of the other older riders frolicking around in the snow might have ideas and may have even had to deal with such a situation long ago in the colder regions pre-plague. Still, he didn’t want to have to ask and then be part of the gossiping and jokes later on or have to be indebted to anyone.
Glancing around for an idea, V’ler found a shovel and a pile of snow that likely came off of the ice after the last heavy snowfall. Well, it was time to put it back on. Without a word, he went over, grabbed the shovel, scooped up a load of snow, and walked back to the edge of the pond where he dumped the snow. Then the shovel was held out to Indivara. “If you put enough snow on the ice, it’ll form a somewhat helpful path. He should get enough traction to stand at least.” Maybe. It wouldn’t hurt.
