K'tir wasn't quite sure what brought him from Ista to Fort that afternoon. He liked the warmer weather and even the sense of isolation that Weyr had so he didn't leave it too often unless he was tasked with something like running a message or even getting something for his kids. Neither of those had happened yet there he was, strolling through Fort Weyr with a certain destination in mind.
Actually, he did know why his feet -- or rather, Ghaeth -- brought him to Fort. R'nya hadn't replied to his letter from about six weeks ago and he was worried. Well, not really. The man was the Weyrleader and if anything had happened to him, everyone would know. But K'tir also knew the letter had likely irritated the stoic man that was surprisingly fun to play with and had simply chosen not to reply. So a surprise visit was in order!
K'tir chuckled to himself as he thought back over the turns since they had both lost a gold Flight and ended up having sex in the hall in front of a lot of people. That had not been one of his smoothest moments after the fact when he teased the bronzerider but it did make him want to continue doing so. K'tir was usually more reserved and even boring if the right person was asked to describe him. He didn't mind that description as it usually meant people left him alone when he wanted that and he could sit back and watch others make fools of themselves.
But since that Flight and an awkward blind date courtesy of Rhaedalyn and Z’ia, K'tir would every so often make a random comment to R'nya or send him a letter to check up on the man. And every so often, R'nya would reply back, leaving K'tir laughing at the imagery created.
He knocked on the door to the Weyrleader's office and when no reply came, he let himself in, finding it empty. That wasn't too surprising. It was just after midday meal and R'nya had probably wandered off to eat with his mate. M'ris was fond of doing that with Ameris and it seemed like a good way to run away from responsibilities for an hour or so.
He eyed R'nya's comfortable looking chair but decided he didn't want to push the bronzerider that much and instead settled into the chair on the opposite side of the desk. He pulled out the book he had been reading from his bag and set the bag on the ground beside him.
The book in question was one he really shouldn't be reading, or even own. He found it one day when he was in town looking for gifts for his children. A vendor had pointed out the small collection of books he had started binding and then drew him further into the back to show some more books of the adult variety. The title alone amused K'tir and he paid far too much for it. It was rather smutty and K'tir wondered who the author was. It almost reminded him of the Mysterious Notes that used to pop up all over Katila back in the day.
Not sure how long he'd have to wait, K'tir propped his feet up on the corner of R'nya's desk and settled in with his naughty book.
