It was a few moments of waiting before Quinvalis appeared in the weyr. Wenon looked at the pot he carried curiously, oblivious to the boy's train of thought. She was a bit unsure of what the Candidate was doing. Surely Rhaedalyn or R'nya hadn't sent him to bring her a meal? They knew perfectly well there was no need to make sure she was eating enough (she had a son to do that for her), so it seemed unlikely. Nevertheless, she returned his greeting and waited for the situation to be explained.
Thankfully Quinvalis got right to the point of his visit, even if Wenon blinked a few times as he finished explaining, not entirely sure what was happening. He had brought her stew made by his mother? And something that was still concealed by the bag he held. How curious. She smiled at the care with which Quinvalis set down the pot of stew, appreciative of the gesture. Even if it was more likely due to unwillingness to deal with making a mess of her desk than caring about her things. Though, it occurred to her, if he bothered to bring her a gift in the first place maybe he was just considerate like that.
You haven't said anything to him yet. Her subconscious pointed out to her. Wenon shook herself out of her thoughts and smiled softly at Quinvalis.
"Thank you, Quinvalis. It is a kind gesture. I am sure your mother's stew is wonderful." She said, giving the stew and appraising glance. Not the she was a culinary expert, but she was curious if she could identify some of what was in it. It certainly smelled lovely, now that it was closer to her. She turned back to Quinvalis and gave him a questioning look.
"You did not need to get me anything. I appreciate it, however. What is in the bag?" Wenon asked.
