A chill of pleasure ran through him at Indivara’s touch. They didn’t have that sort of relationship no matter what people believed but there was flight lust running through them both, though V’ler knew he had the clearer head with every passing second. “Help you? By tying you to the bed?” he grinned as he teased, but was already trying to think what to do. Besides, he knew all too well what it was like to deny the feelings coming so strongly from his dragon, especially for the first flight. He also would never tie Indivara to anything. For one thing, though he didn’t care about what others thought, in this case he didn’t need people thinking he was like S’kef and hit his partners or was jealous and kept them from chasing. Indivara would struggle and hurt herself. He didn’t even want to think what would happen if Venseth won and Indivara wasn’t near Kerrin.
He knew Indivara used to flight moth; knew it far too well. But she had grown distant from that activity and believed she never even touched anyone else in such a way since Impressing. Venseth chasing had been one of her fears, even if she never gave it voice. V’ler knew enough about dragons, people, and his own experiences with flights to know why Indivara came to bed tense some nights. She needed help, but V’ler knew he didn’t have enough time to impart all of his collected wisdom.
Grabbing Indivara’s hand to get her to stop distracting him with her touch, V’ler silently asked Veeth who was interested. Some blueriders needed to be avoided while others would be better to stay near.I do not sense Zeianth or Aveleth visiting today. Varralath will chase though. V’ler let out the breath he had been holding. Both D’hys and Z’ia liked to pick on him in flights and he was often left with bruises from rougher than needed sex. He didn’t want that for Indivara though he suspected she’d give as well as she took once she found her mind.
Letting go of her hand, V’ler cupped Indivara’s face with his good hand to keep her eyes on him and help her focus. “I will properly help you later, okay? But listen carefully to some quick and important advice. Don’t fight the lust, trust me. It’s easier on you both to let Venseth take over, he knows what he’s doing and won’t hurt you. Ever. But you’re not an animal. Win or lose, focus on passion not rage or conquering. Z’rin is chasing. Stay close to him and grab him if you both lose. He has a good rep and hasn’t hurt me yet.”
That was enough of a crash course for now. V’ler could tell the flight lust was growing and talking wasn’t what she needed anymore. Getting out of bed, he grabbed Indivara’s hand once more to get her to follow him to his dragon. “Veeth will take you to the gathering. Come home when you’re able. I’ll be here for you, okay?”
You’re getting good at comforting people.
Only because I know what it’s like. ...and because it’s her. She needs it right now and helped me when I needed it. I’m told that’s the sort of thing friends do.
