Breathing room? You are breathing just fine Ronarth reasoned with light amusement, completely unaware of just how badly he was missing the point. He leaned into Erisi's fingers and rumbled loudly.
I know where she is he said agreeably, cocking his head to one side as he exhaled. But she doesn't want me to tell you he explained, the intonation of his voice implying just how unfortunate he found the whole situation.
Back at the table, D'ren contented himself petting Krypth. He complied with her request, running his calloused fingers over her headknobs and eyeridges with deceptive delicateness. He laughed gently. "It still seems like yesterday, when ROnarth was just a baby like this," he cooed, still wholly unaware of Charath's approach. He did catch sight of the little blue and her new bonded...Wasn't that Valerian, one of I'shan's searchees? D'ren nodded a greeting to the bluepair before returning his attention to Krypth.
"You can give her a pillow if you want," he said. "They're very clingy at this age...As she grows, she'll come to be a bit more independent and realize that you don't have to sleep on top of each other to be close," he explained patiently. "Ronarth kept crawling into bed with me until he was too large."
His face brightened as Nirinath appeared, dropping into view from between and depositing her rider before craning her neck over to inspect her new golden daughter. "Tsuen," D'ren greeted warmly, reaching out with his free hand to take hers and kiss the top of it. "Good evening to you as well. I take it Nirinath is happy to be free of the sands!"
Nearby, Ronarth let out a happy warble and immediatly pulled away from Erisi. The bronze padded over to Nirinath, trusting people to move out of his way as he made his way over and curled up alongside his mate. D'ren's eyes widened in momentary terror as people hustled out of the clumsy dragon's way.
Ronarth... he thought with dismay.
What?
...Nothing. Sigh.
