Ayyonth remained silent as Larrikith mulled over everything that was said, using the time to consider once more things he had been told. He didn’t think R’nd was in over his head but felt it would be good for his bonded to sort out the mysteries of B’jin and learn to deal with the bad as well as he did the good. The two men were a nice balance to each other and already seemed to draw them out of their carefully crafted personas they kept up for most of the world to see. So he believed that any stumbles they had on their way to opening their eyes to what their amazing dragons had worked so hard to give them would be dealt with without major hysterics and drama. He’d probably try to disown R’nd for Kerrin if his idiot lifemate tried to walk away because he was afraid of feelings or worried he would disappoint B’jin.
I hope that time doesn’t come but I imagine he’ll know why and understand it should it happen. R’nd was usually rather perceptive, unless it came to his own feelings, but Ayyonth knew he would realize when he had overstepped a line and caused B’jin more pain than he had ever attempted to soothe. Given how slow their steps forward were, Ayyonth wondered if that would mean any potential pain-causing was twenty turns away or if it would happen sooner because they were being too cautious and not willing to open up about all aspects of their lives until it was too late.
Those were things to worry about when they happened, Ayyonth decided as Larrikith brought up the very good idea of sleeping. He had been getting a bit sleepy himself while watching the humans and the befuddled mind of fellis R’nd had briefly suffered before passing out hadn’t helped the blue’s concentration when he went poking around in that mind. A wonderful idea. They clearly need us watching over them while they’re awake and near each other for a while longer so we should rest when they do. He gave a returning nuzzle to the top of her head after Larrikith had settled down before finally finding the perfect spot to rest his own head and shut his lids. Sweetest of dreams to you and B’jin, Larrikith.
