Madiquel looked up, head tilted slightly to one side. She was sure she had heard her name, but a quick surreptitious glance around didn’t betray anyone as seeking out her attention. Shrugging slightly to herself, Madiquel looked back down at her little green firelizard, who was busy scolding her for stopping the attentions of her bath. She laughed softly and refocused her attention, teasing the little firelizard with playful tones. The sudden greeting being called out to her had the girl’s head lifting and she grinned widely at R’dare, lifting one oily hand to wave.
Bright, playful laughter bubbled up when R’dare toppled to his knees on his way over, her eyes sparkling; she had long since stopped worrying about her friend and his clumsiness – if he were hurt, she would know it. Shifting her gaze, Madiquel sought out the great blue dragon that was bonded to her friend and smiled at Kadaisicalth with fond affection. Unlike some of the weyrbrats, Madiquel was not jealous of her dragonriding friends; she had no real desire to Impress herself, and saw no need to be jealous of the magnificent creatures when she could be their friends.
“Hello, Dare!” She greeted, shifting her attention back to the young bluerider, even as Clover finally gave up expecting Madiquel to return to her oiling – she had been completely oiled, they were just revealing in the mutual enjoyment of contact – and curled up happily in Madiquel’s lap, chirping cheerfully at R’dare, flicking her wing slightly so that they flared out and soaked up the dappled light from through the leaves. “Still fighting the grips of gravity?” She teased, her smile pulling her lips up playfully.
