Razzah had been studying one of the scrolls that he had been given to study when the faint sound of a dragon humming caught his ear. At first the young man thought nothing of it but soon te humming was drowned out of his ears by the louder rush of frantic feet. Razzah stood up from his lounging in one of the crafthalls study areas to investigate the commotion; upon sticking his head out the door however, he almost lost it. A rush of people and dragons wisked by and Razzah just barely caught excited words "it's time" "hatching" "who will impress?!." Shards and shells! the hatching was happening! Razzah rushed out of the study area and fought his way through the throngs of people and dragons alike.
At last -and feeling rather bruised- he made it to the hatching grounds; as soon as the hot air rushed against his face all his nervousness faded from him. As if this was the most calm day ever Razzah felt himself move down to the edge of the sands where he bowed to the Gold Queen. He offered his most heartfelt congratulations to her before taking his place among the rest of the candidates who would stand.
Razzah felt as calm as if he were relaxng out in the warm sun on a lazy day. He let his eyes wander over the eggs but they caught on the ones he had touched; these he looked at fondly. He didn't reach out with his mind and beg to impress one but simply left his mind open and inviting i am here; fine young ones, choose me if i am worthy. It was all very strange because since the day he had touched the eggs he had been very nervous about this the hatching day. He knew he would be jittery and mess up; but here he stood as at ease as one could get with a gentle happy smile playing upon his lips.
