Done and done [color=#000066]Eyes: D’hys has grey eyes that are, admittedly, rather girly thanks to his long lashes. They are expressive, lending to his deceptions of showing he’s a well behaved angel or warning everyone that the devious bugger is about to be let loose. Hair: D’hys keeps his sandy blonde locks cut relatively short, giving him a clean cut boy-next-door look if he chooses. He can also spike his hair to give off the impression of a slight rebel waiting to spring into action; a look he often goes with for social gatherings. Height: 6’2 General Appearance: Aside from his light-coloured hair and large grey eyes, D’hys attracts attention with his dashing yet wicked smile. He is a master of giving everything from sly smirks to large, full blown friendly smiles. He doesn’t really have a care in the world and it shows when he smiles and laughs. The icing on an already beautiful cake is the dimples that appear when such smiles are given. Typically, though, he maintains slightly less-blinding smiles and sticks to his smirks and grins that are slightly crooked and most definitely mischievous. D’hys takes care of himself. While not at a body-builder level for his form, he is still rather cut, putting swimmers and runners to shame, though he does enjoy both activities as methods of staying in shape. His tall frame supports his desire to keep a finely tuned body, with long legs that showcase his enjoyment of running. Dressing Style: Whatever catches his eye has a place in his wardrobe. D’hys will typically be seen in casual, yet high quality, attire with a particular fondness to black or beige pants and a loose short sleeved shirt as he sees no need to showcase what everyone already knows is a great body. That being said, he’s still often seen with an open shirt or lacking in a shirt altogether; especially if he’s just woken or he’s after stubborn prey. His riding leathers are well-maintained as he doesn’t approve of looking like a slouch, especially while in ‘uniform’. Otherwise, he doesn’t pay extra special attention to having the finest or most unique of style of clothing. Personality if you want it to be good girl, get yourself a bad boy [color=#000066]General Character Traits: D’hys is a playboy lacking in any strong morals. He would be the poster boy for the quintessential bluerider with his good looks, charm, and enjoyment of sleeping around. Unlike some of the other more prominent and well known blueriders in Katila, D’hys has a ‘must conquer all’ mentality. He has fully embraced his sexual nature and while he does enjoy sleeping with different lovers, he’s more in it for the glory, collecting bedpost notches and obtaining the unobtainable. He’s also not above a friendly competition with a fellow rider in who can win over someone first, even willing to manipulate to get what is wanted. On the more innocent side of things, D’hys enjoys taking and placing bets on almost everything. When there is a clutch on the sand, he may not always be the first to lay down his marks – he likes to study the field and where his advantages lie in anything first – but you can rest assured he’ll have a bet placed well before the Hatching with colours and even who will Impress. There is just something about the thrill of a challenge and beating the odds that he thrives on and D’hys respects others with the same appreciation. In short, D’hys loves games and he plays to win. D’hys could also be considered an adrenaline junkie, though only when the idea is presented the right way. Making it a challenge will usually win him over but even a friend egging him on can get him to free fall from a ledge or try a silly stunt. He won’t, however, do anything that will harm his dragon and he’s not too fond of anything that will mar his good looks; which means he’s become quite good at not getting caught, especially with lashings back in effect. While he is rather arrogant, D’hys is not a complete jerk either as he does have innocent and clean fun with his friends and enjoys goofing off with them whenever he can. He doesn’t necessarily shirk his duties but he will make sure his chores are done in a timely manner so the day can be spent lounging out in the sun with his dragon and any friends available. The most important thing to know about D’hys is that he’s loving life and doesn’t care who’s along for the ride or who’s in the way. Likes:     Physical Activities: This ranges from bedroom fun to exercise. D’hys loves being in motion regardless of the reason. True, he enjoys resting in the sun as well, as even he has no desire to burn himself out and can take as much pleasure in goofing off as he can in doing crunches. The actual ‘clean’ activities he prefers to invest his free time into would be swimming and running, finding both to be excellent for keeping his body in shape but also rather relaxing.     Playing Games: Life is but a game! Where’s the fun in worrying or working day in and day out? D’hys knows when playtime is over and work should be done but everything else, possibly even the chores he is assigned, is seen as a game to be played in order to amuse him and win. After all, what point is there in playing if you only lose?     Gambling: Tying in with his love of games, D’hys isn’t afraid to put marks down on bets or dares. One of his favourite games to play is with Z’ia as they wager who can sleep with so-and-so first or win a certain flight. Dislikes:     Sappy Emotions: To D’hys, there’s no reason to cry over anything or pine for what was and no longer can be. He wants to have fun and how can he when he’s tied down by such useless feelings or the person he’s chasing is a weeping mess. A flower in its prime attracts attention, not the wilted flower tossed aside.     Bathing and oiling his dragon: While certainly not as large as a bronze can get, Zeianth still takes quite a while to scrub and then oil. D’hys doesn’t mind it to a point as it can be a good workout but in the hot summer days it feels like it goes on for a lifetime.     Harm befalling Zeianth: Since the plague, D’hys has been extremely protective of Zeianth and won’t do anything to put his dragon in serious harm and doesn’t take too kindly to anyone physically or verbally attacking his blue beauty. Habits/Mannerisms: D’hys loves to express himself with varying tones of smiles, grins, and smirks. He enjoys himself and everything he does and has a habit of showing it off. He also has a habit of checking out his reflection in most available surfaces. Strengths: His bravery, for a lack of a better word, is one of his strongest points. D’hys has no qualms with charging ahead, being the first to attempt something, or conquering a fear or tackling an issue that most would try to ignore. D’hys dares where others would not. Weaknesses: D’hys’ biggest weakness would be his dragon. His protective streak is strong when it comes to Zeianth and D’hys will not tolerate any sort of physical harm to his blue nor will he take kindly to anyone insulting Zeianth. A close runner up would be his arrogance. He believes himself to be the hottest and best thing around and everyone else should know this as well. His arrogance, coupled with the thrill he gets out of bending the rules and having fun on the wild side, can also lead him into interesting predicaments but D’hys fancies himself a master of getting out of trouble. Past Lovers/Partners: Too many to list; none of note. Current Lovers/Partners: Too many to list; none of note. Children: He knows of several but hasn’t laid claim to them. It’s questionable as to whether or not he even knows their names. Background Story: ~195 AL D’ser, bored, permits his brown to chase the sassy green pair. Nine months later, L’dia gives birth to Danihysian, honouring the tradition of using a portion of the father’s name despite D’ser not wanting to be involved. ~196 – 200 AL: Danihysian is raised by L’dia and the crèche when his half-sisters are born. ~ 201 AL: L’dia decides it’s time for D’ser to meet his son and manages to get him to accept Danihysian. ~ 202 – 205 AL: Father and son are seen spending time together, usually tending to the brown dragon with bathing or oiling. D’ser teaches him how to maintain and adjust riding straps. L’dia takes a more domestic approach and teaches her son and daughters how to cook, which is her passion outside of riding. ~206 – 208 AL: Danihysian continues assisting his father and some of the other riders with their dragons and spends the remainder of his free time helping his mother or playing with the other weyrbrats close to his age. ~209 AL: Danihysian Impresses at his first Standing to blue Zeianth at age 12. His father is both pleased that his son Impressed at his first Standing but disappointed that it was a blue as most were convinced he’d Impress brown. ~210 – 211 AL: Danihysian continues with his weyrling classes and finally graduates with Zeianth giving him the name of D’hys. ~212-214 AL: D’hys continues adjusting to his new life as a rider, training or tending to Zeianth a majority of the time and embracing his blue nature that leaves him tangled in quite a few sheets. ~215 AL: L’dia’s dragon is among the first to fall ill from the plague at their weyr. Knowing what they do from other weyrs and seeing it for themselves as others start to die around them, she says her farewells and orders D’hys to stay away and keep Zeianth from harm. The following night she goes between with her green. D’hys breaks down and that is the last time he allows himself to cry. ~216 AL: The decision to go South in order to save the rest of the dragons is made and D’hys doesn’t hesitate in packing. He opts to go solo, not wishing to chance anything decreasing their chance to survive the plague. His sisters beg him to stay or take them but he still leaves with a whispered farewell. ~217 AL -219 AL: Having never had to build anything before and unsure as to how long the exile is, D’hys slowly starts crafting a shelter and learning how to secure his little piece of land. ~220 AL: Zeianth receives the call to reunite. After debating whether his blue really will be okay, D’hys packs up once more and they head off. His father is one of the first he looks for and is relieved to find him. ~221 AL: D’hys uses his limited skills to build himself a hut in the new weyr and offers to help in other areas as well. He finds it comforting to be around people and doing something once again. He likes to be lazy at times but after so many turns of not having much to do, he enjoys the physical exertion. ~222 AL: It’s tempting to go North with some of the others but D’hys stays South as he’s starting to like their makeshift home and the people that fill it. ~223 AL:  Like most people, D’hys worries about Nirinath and wonders if the plague affected her in some way, making her sterile. There’s nothing he can do about that so he continues settling into his new life and making the most of it. ~224 AL: When a group of Northerners come South on rumours of dragons still being alive, D’hys wonders why they aren’t showing themselves and returning North once more now that the threat of plague is over. He, however, continues to listen to the leadership and avoids making any sort of contact. After the turns of solitude, D’hys doesn’t want to repeat that experience for life by becoming an outcast for endangering the weyr. ~225 AL: D’hys’ hut escapes damage during the storm but he lends his hands to rebuilding other areas. ~226AL: When he hears “some brown is sick, it must be plague!” D’hys worries it’s his father and seeks him out once more and is once again relieved to see the man is fine. ~227 AL: Renewed Hope clutch hatches! D’hys is thrilled and relaxes a bit now that the future of the dragons seems to be on the incline once again. He’s unsure about the method of kidnapping Candidates but doesn’t worry himself over it and parties for several days straight with some friends. ~228 AL: Even in a weyr as small as Katila, D’hys rarely sees his father but makes attempts from time to time to catch up. Their differing status based on dragon colour begins to show even more and with D’hys getting older he has lost some of the idol worship of youth. ~229 AL: The weyrlings graduate and D’hys is amused to hear a bluerider given the honorific of Z’ia, which sounds somewhat like his dragon Zeianth. He seeks the man out later on to deem him worthy of friendship. ~230 AL: Chaos and heartbreak continue to follow the bluerider around as D’hys continues with his Southern lifestyle of leisure with some chores tossed in. ~231 AL: Despite the leadership increasing punishment and reintroducing lashings, D’hys still lives on the wild side, enjoying himself, especially with another successful Hatching proving it is once again the era of dragonriders. Dragon Details ice ice baby [color=#000066]Name: Zeianth Pronounced: Zay-anth Colour: Blue Wing Rank: Wingrider Place of Birth: Igen Weyr Age/Date of Birth: 22 / 209 AL Clutch Name: Soaring Beauty Clutch Mother: Gold Trilth Clutch Father: Bronze Rakoth Appearance:      Mature Length: 16’5     Mature Height: 22 hands     Mature Wingspan: 24’     Scars & Markings: None.     General Appearance: Zeianth is as cool as ice; literally. He is of a pale blue that is only a few shades away from being white while a brighter, but still pale, blue streaks over his body. His pattern gives off the illusion of a sheet of ice and those that have tried to get close to D’hys and failed say Zeianth is the perfect colouring for such a man. The quiet blue dragon has one other interesting feature which leaves him looking like he ran through some sort of mud. All four paws and his nose are coloured in a bluish-purple. Some have whispered it was a touch of brown springing into the dragon that has a rider that shows similar traits to the more outspoken brownriders while others find it interesting or a flaw keeping his frozen hide from flawless beauty. Either way, Zeianth is proud of his hide and negative comments are easily brushed aside. Personality:     Likes: Being kept clean, being pampered by anyone willing to spend the time on him, seeing D’hys happy.     Dislikes: being painted as it hides his beautiful hide, grumpy people and dragons.     Habits/Mannerisms: As Zeianth often doesn’t dignify someone’s stupidity with a comment, he mentally rolls his eyes instead. It’s a rather ineffective habit as D’hys is often the only one to know he has replied in such a way.     Strengths: His ability to temper D’hys’ wild side when it gets out of control and can usually talk him down from a fight should he manage to land in one due to his flirting without caring about the consequences.     Weaknesses: His ‘go with the flow’ attitude often leaves him not speaking up in time when D’hys decides to up the risk factor or warn someone else of impending disaster. He’s also easily swayed when D’hys promises he’ll be careful and not bring any harm to either of them.     General Personality: Zeianth can be seen as the strong and silent type though when he speaks, it’s often with arrogance. He loves to have fun and while he has confidence in his abilities and those of his bonded, Zeianth sometimes holds onto reservations with some of their antics as he doesn’t particularly want to see either of them injured. He’s still fairly easy-going and easily amused as he believes life shouldn’t be wasted on worrying over trivial matters and should instead be enjoyed in any way. He is a good balance to D’hys who goes to extremes at times in his playing and needs his level-headed dragon to drag him back to acceptable levels of play. He’s quite loyal, naturally to D’hys, but also to those he sees as important in their lives. Z’ia and blue Aveleth rank almost as highly as D’hys when it comes to the urge to protect. Aveleth in particular has earned the older blue’s defence given how timid the dragon is to the point of stuttering. If another dragon attempts to bully his friend, he will step in, just as he will put himself bodily in front of their humans should they end up doing something too ridiculous and can’t get out of it on their own. He learned from his mother and continued to teach himself while in exile and then at Katila. He believes he’s amazing at cooking but wouldn’t say he’s worthy of any actual rank. RP Example Challenge Accepted Much like he had done at the clutch’s hatching with taking mental notes over the colours of the dragonets and who they Impressed to, D’hys was carefully watching and listening to the clutch’s graduation for what their new names would be. They seemed to be a good bunch, dragons and riders both, and he was pleased to see so many make it through werylinghood. It had been tragic to lose the three that they did – two lives lost needlessly in a bout of recklessness while the third had gone between from depression. Those now standing before the crowd of hopeful onlookers looked like they were torn between showing how extremely happy they were and remembering their fallen mates that should have been there with them. D’hys wanted to say he hoped both incidents would serve as a reminder to everyone to think before acting so carelessly but in truth, he was hardly the ideal role model with his own love of bending rules and having a little fun on the daring side. While he was interested in how much he would win that day, D’hys’ gaze kept travelling over each new rider for a very different reason. He had socialized, casually, with some of them over the last few turns but made no real attempt to sleep with any of them. Candidates were too easy – though the same could be said for some of his fellow blues and especially about many of the greens – as they often had crushes on riders or delusions of making something more out of themselves if they could bed a rider. There was also the annoying little detail that some were recently from the North and not taking the transition into weyr life that well. He simply didn’t want to deal with crying on his shoulder before, during, or after getting laid. Now, however, with two turns to adjust to life with a dragon and accept their fate, D’hys saw all the beautiful people on display before him as an open buffet that he would take his time sampling and working through. As the female bluerider received her honorific, D’hys smiled and mentally checked off her name as one that he got right. He’d also have to track her down at some point, to congratulate her and welcome her to the blueriders, of course. It was when another blue pair stepped up that D’hys’ attention was thoroughly caught. Zaiopia, the man D’hys said would become Z’io, was an attractive albeit short man, and one that cost him several marks. It didn’t matter, however, as the honorific received earned a smile and a soft laugh. I believe another dragon is paying homage to you, Zeianth. He has named his rider Z’ia. D’hys could feel the amusement his blue had over the situation and his smile widened as the dragon knew already what he wanted to do. [color=#0066CC]I take it you’ll be seeking out the pair to learn more about them?Of course he would. It was pretty much ordained that their lives be entwined now and D’hys couldn’t see the harm in checking out the guy. The remainder of the ceremony was spent in much the same way, approving or scowling when names were called out and cheering enthusiastically with the rest of the crowd for each new full-fledged rider joining their meagre numbers. Even if he ended up losing more marks than he had placed, which didn’t seem likely, D’hys was genuinely glad to see Katila’s first clutch come to such success. He looked forward to the gathering afterwards to properly celebrate but also to find that fascinating little bluerider that seemed to have been named for a very obvious reason. His enjoyment.
