"I know I hurt you," Tal said, sputtering a bit as another surge of coughing rose up in his chest. He angled his face towards Erisi just a little bit. "But you hurt me sometimes, too. And I don't care. You're m-my friend, and you're worth it," he said. He sniffled a bit, still struggling to keep his composure. "I wouldn't trade anyone in the world for you, Eri...no matter how poorly you think of me."
He was a clever boy, but also highly dramatic. He really felt denounced, though Erisi's last few words restored a bit of hope in him. He rubbed his eyes and turned his head back to his friends. "Thank you guys. I couldn't ask for any better friends, I don't imagine.." His eyes gleamed a bit as he thought back on the previous night, to the very moment where the realization hit him. He couldn't leave them behind. He couldn't! As he sat now, he couldn't bear to think about it, how he'd come to very close.
He cleared his throat a bit, wincing in pain as he did so, and slid back under his covers, trying to find a comfortable arrangement. "I still hate this place," he whispered softly, managing the weakest little laugh. "I know you guys do, too. I guess it's not so bad when we have each other to hate it with." He coughed a little bit and smirked at his own sappiness. It felt good, even if such openness was making his friends uncomfortable. "...But this is something I need to put behind me," he said. There was some resolve there, buried deep...but quite honest.
"You guys don't have to stay here with me if you don't want," he added in a mellow tone. "I'll be fine on my own. Not that I don't like having someone to talk to," he said, implying that he very much hoped they would stay.
