While locked away at Katila, it had been easy to forget that the rest of the world aged normally; almost everyone at Katila had been bonded to a dragon, and while there had been a decent number of those who were not destined for a dragon partner, they hadn’t been old enough to remind the rest of them that people without dragons tended to age, well, normally.
To be fair, B’jin really shouldn’t have forgotten something so straight forward, since he’d certainly gotten together with enough friends of the past since their return North that he’d been heartbroken to see aged. Lovers and teachers who had once been young and beautiful were now carrying the weight of years in the lines around their faces or in the grey of their hair. It had hurt, but naively, B’jin had not acknowledged that everyone from his past would have aged. Ever. Single. One.
“For being you,” B’jin offered simply in reply to his lover, warming the simple words with a gentle smile and a playful nuzzle, the tip of his nose brushing playfully against R’nd’s ear. Leaning back a little, B’jin brushed at R’nd’s mussed up hair with his left hand, his expression fondly amused. “You look adorable,” he teased, laughing softly as he sat up with a yawn; if he didn’t get himself upright he was going to fall asleep and never wake up again between the aftermath of their delicious activities, the weight of the wine still in his belly and the late hour.
Untangling himself gently from R’nd, B’jin settled back on the bed, a pillow stuffed between his back and the headboard, relaxed and at ease with his nakedness around his lover; it had taken a couple of years for the greenrider to let himself be comfortable without some type of cloth barrier between his body and his lovers eyes, but it had eventually come about. “How was your day?” While it was a generic question, the interest in B’jin’s brown eyes was far from a façade, and with his head tilted slightly to the side in curiosity the honestly was apparent.
God, B’jin feels like a stranger to me! This might take a bit to get back into the swing of lol.
