J'zek's steps had a little extra swagger to them now and had since he'd impressed Sirbuth. Fuck it if he wasn't going to act like the amazing Bronzerider he now was after having impressed the best dragon in the clutch, if not the Weyr. He'd seen some of the other Bronzes and none held a candle to his. Some may have thought he should be showing a little more modesty, but that had never been his style. Sirbuth marched allow side his rider, head up and gaze focused on their destination. There was no getting around the haughty tilt of his head, a gesture that was perhaps a little foreboding in something only a few days old. The Bronze had already made a name for himself at his hatching, attacking one of his Green clutchmates and her rider. Such incidents could usually be chalked up to confusion or fear, but with Sirbuth neither seemed to apply and most agreed his actions had been on purpose. Jes wasn't the least bit bothered by the whispers or how some gave them extra space. In fact he kinda liked it, and so did Sirbuth.
Upon reaching their destination, one of the larger hot springs, Sirbuth slid into the water, paddling about while he waited for his rider. J'zek wasn't entirely sure if hatchlings were even allowed in the pools, but he didn't really care either. If someone wanted to make a fuss that was their problem not his. Will you hurry up I have an itchy spot. Sirbuth demanded as he paddled about in the spring. "I'm coming, gimme a minute." J'zek grumbled fondly as he pulled his shirt off over his head, but kept on his cut off trousers as he dropped down into the warm water. It wasn't that he was especially modest, but he knew how some of the men about the Weyr were and no one was getting a free show today. The Blue and Greenriders seemed especially prone to such afflictions and J'zek was grateful Sirbuth had impressed him before any had wandered in his direction. They wouldn't have had enough sense to choose you. The bronze confided with a derisive snort as he swam around. J'zek laughed, reaching out to grab a bag of sand and a brush from the shore. "Too right." He agreed. He'd heard a little gossip about flights and was glad he wasn't going to have to deal with that hurdle anytime soon. He'd already noticed there was a severe lack of female riders, and while relived he hadn't impresses some randy Blue or Green he realized that Sirbuth would eventually end up a dragon with a male rider, a thought that made the holdbred man cringe.
"Alright come on over and show me where that itchy spot is." J'zek directed, wading up onto a shallow ledge as he waited for the Bronze. Finding a rougher patch of hide on Sirbuth's back J'zek lathered on some soap sand and began scrubbing, grinning at the pleased croon the Bronze emmitted. I think someone is approaching. The Bronze informed Jes a few minutes later, sounding delighted at the prospect of intimidating someone new. J'zek smirked and continued scrubbing, just as eager to test out he newly minted status.
