He contemplated K'tir's answer, staring off with a vaguely distant and wine muddled gaze. He'd wondered about the bond between dragon and rider, even more so after the hatching and getting to see the moment of impression for himself. All who'd impressed had looked intensely happy, though a few had looked a little overwhelmed by it as well. Being private by nature he wasn't sure how easily he'd adjust to the constant presence of another being, but the benefits of being a dragonrider seemed to out weigh any discomfort that might come along with such a complex bond. Not that he had any real reason to worry about such things just yet. He wasn't even a candidate, just one of what was likely a multitude of young men wishing to become one. Ghaeth had remembered him though and that gave him hope. Surely the dragon wouldn't have remembered someone who had no possibility of impressing.
Ekshan was drawn back to the present by K'tir's movements, not bothering to object as his glass was refilled. He was already well on his way to becoming well and truly drunk, but didn't want to look rude by refusing a refill. Luckily Ekshan wasn't the sort that became rowdy when he'd had too much, though many of his inhibitions slipped away he didn't start dancing on tables or doing anything too embarrassing. He was relieved when K'tir continued his explanation since it was becoming harder to come up with questions that didn't focus on getting the man to Gabrin's hold. Not that the topic of lust didn't anything to help him focus on anything else.
He sipped once again at his wine, his expression almost comical in how seriously he considered the Brownrider's words. "I never gave much thought to how a rider's lust must affect their dragon. It's probably good that the affect isn't as intense the other way around. Could be rather awkward in situations like this one." Ekshan made a broad gesture to the gather crowd, sloshing some wine over his fingers. He frowned in mild annoyance and took the glass in his other hand as he sucked clean each wine soaked finger.
"I suppose you can have your pick tonight." He resumed the conversation as he met K'tir's gaze. "Has anyone caught your fancy?" He tried to feign indifferent curiosity, but his heart pounded to rapidly for that to be true. If K'tir did had his eye on someone else tonight Ekshan would be crushed.
