B’jin tried to keep his energetic bouncing to a minimum as N’del agreed to spare him a few moments; the greenrider was ecstatic! This would be perfect! N’del was a good and proper man and B’jin was almost positive he could be trusted to be honest about how good – or more probably, bad – B’jin’s cooking was and whether or not it was fit for his lover to consume. When N’del finally gave him that look, B’jin took another look around, before returning his attention to his fellow greenrider.
“I need your help,” B’jin began, leaning forward conspiringly as he murmured the words; loud enough to be heard by N’del but definitely not loud enough to be heard by anyone that might be passing by. He was not going to risk anyone getting the upper hand on this! “I’ve been getting some cooking lessons,” he didn’t say who from, fearing that even that bit of extra material could fall into the wrong hands via the wrong ears and B’jin still didn’t trust firelizards as far as he could punt the little shits, even if he was now bonded to one of his own.
Naturally, that thought called forth the little golden queen, who winked out of between above the two men’s heads with a cool breeze, before swirling to land delicately on B’jin’s right shoulder, her tail snaking gently around his neck once in a loose gold circlet. B’jin petted her lightly on the head but paid her no serious mind. “I wondered, if maybe you could taste some of it for me?” Huge brown eyes stared imploringly up at N’del through honeyed lashes as he waited with baited breath for the reply.
