N'del turned from his side onto his back as he woke, stretching and noting an unusual soreness to his body, something other than his normal morning aches and pains. His hand came in contact with warm skin and he gave a knowing sigh. Emeryth's flight. It always took him a few moments to recall the event and remind himself he was getting too old for such things. A man his age should have had a more permanent partner who'd know enough to take it easy with an old man.
He turned his head glancing toward the shelf where he kept a jar of numbweed for sore muscles. A wine skin also sat on the shelf and he wondered if it was too early for a glass. He reached out for Emeryth, but the Green was still asleep and he didn't feel like having to listen to her scolding for disturbing her. It was light out and if memory served Emeryth had risen around mid morning, once she'd been warmed by the sun, so it was at least mid or late afternoon. That was good enough for him.
Moving slowly, more because he had to than out of a desire not to disturb his partner, N'del slid his feet out of bed and sat up. Speaking of partners, he looked over his shoulder, taking note of the masculine figure in his bed. Yes it had been K'tir's Ghaeth who'd won this time around. N'del was relieved it was someone with experience and was unlikely to be looking for a long term arrangement. Emeryth often chided him for not finding someone, but even now he felt guilty over considering, as if he was dishonoring the memory of D'ken.
With a soft grunt he bent at the waist and snagged his pants between his fingers, thanking Faranth that they were close at hand. He slide his feet into the legs then pushed himself up to finish. Moving with a noticeable limp he retrieved the wine skin and poured himself a glass, taking a good swallow.
