The morning had been fairly uneventful for N'kal, though he seemed to be distracted for whatever reason, as was Torath. The bronze was laid out as usual in the sun, but rather than dozing as he usually did, he had been well aware of every, and any, thing that went on around him. He was only vaguely aware of the fact he was being climbed on so intent he was on something, though he wasn't sure what.
N'kal was seated nearby on a tree stump, and had been for some time now. He had mended a couple of tunics earlier, and was now working on repairs to his riding straps. He was enjoying the fact that no one was bothering him for this that or the other. He enjoyed being by himself, where he could just focus on doing something that needed to be done. Though it was seeming to take next to forever to get through his current task. He had been at this for Turns, but for whatever reason, he was just not quite as focused as he prided himself to be.
Torath lifted his head and rumbled deeply in his chest as he watched Mizeath take off for the herdbeasts. He lifted his head and his eyes started to swirl wildly, shifting from blues ad purples, to yellows and oranges. Another deep rumble had the mothers of the children climbing on his paws and tail racing to catch hold of them and get them away from what they knew was about to happen. She rises.... , Torath's smooth voice rolle dover his riders mind, in that slow way it always had. Okalinath is not rising..., the bronzerider answered, lifting a brow at his dragon from across the way, wondering what had got into him, not thinking that there were several other gold dragons in the weyr still. He had not bothered to chase anyone but Okalinath since her first flight, so it initially did not hit N'kal, until the first wave of lust rolled over him.
Mizeath....she rises , answered in a tone that clearly said he was annoyed with his rider. He stood as the last of the children were carried away and hurried to the creche, away from him and the rest of the males that were stirring to chase the maiden gold. No..., he answered firmly and Torath growled as he fanned his wings out. Dark eyes watched bronze dragon as the two battled a power of wills over the flight lust that surged through the dragon, filtering into the man. He had not flown anyone but Okalinath, N'kal was in the routine of waking beside Kahleena, they had even managed to fall into some kind of friendship, nothing more, but at least the awkwardness was gone. He liked that, it was some sense of normalcy in this world of late. NO!, he demanded again even as the waves of lust coming from h is red eyed dragon chipped away at his resolve.
Torath felt that chip in his rider's resolve and simply answered,Yes... , and launched himself into the sky. Powerful wings hauled him up quickly enough and he took off after Xyreith and Ghaeth. Both formidable competition, but he gave a bellow and ignored them. He knew what he wanted, what he needed, and would get it, he would have Mizeath. On the ground N'kal groaned at his dragon and reached a final time to try and pull his dragon back, but all he did was open himself up to the crashing waves of lust that made him want nothing but to find Ameris. Moments later he was seeking the dark haired young woman out as Torath roared in response to the golden pair's screaming challenge.
He was following the trail of other men that were also seeking Ameris. He shoved past a couple of younger men and continued his way with a growl that echoed Torath's when the bronze snapped at a blue dragon that got too close to him, and then again at a brown he was going past. He was surly with lust and no one would get in their way to claim the gold that rightfully belonged to them.
