As assumed, Ayyonth didn’t mind bringing B’jin along to R’nd’s surprise. He was large enough to support both men with ease and given the high regard and affection R’nd held B’jin in, Ayyonth wouldn’t turn B’jin away even if he had wanted. Larrikith was shown where they were going to keep the little green in the loop though Ayyonth knew she trusted him enough to not think he was bringing them anywhere that would endanger her rider. The only hazard B’jin had to worry about would be pruning from being in the water too long.
“It’s not very far, I promise,” R’nd assured B’jin once they were on the ground at the clearing from earlier. The bag of supplies and clean clothes was slung over a shoulder and he offered his other hand to B’jin so they could take the leisurely stroll together. His trail of shirt pieces made him chuckle and an embarrassing retelling of how he forgot about the blue firelizard that was merrily flying just ahead of them each step of the way was given. It seemed like the best idea at the time!
The sound of flowing water was faint when R’nd finally stopped their trek and he turned to B’jin, smiling brightly. “Close your eyes, love. I’ll lead you the rest of the way, it’s just a few steps more, but I want you to be properly surprised.” A mini pout was given when B’jin hesitated a moment but the smile was back in place when brown eyes did shut. Hopefully his sneaky lover didn’t peek! The idea to cover B’jin’s eyes with his hands and walk behind him was tempting but R’nd went with the original plan of leading the greenrider by hand the last few steps through the hidden entrance he had marked off. Another scan of the area for animals was given but still none seemed to be lurking nearby.
“Okay, open your eyes,” R’nd was nearly bouncing where he stood as he watched B’jin for his reaction. If it had been days earlier that he found the place, it would have been exciting and enjoyed but not on the current level. The bathhouse had been destroyed and any bathing had to be done in the cool lake or warming water over a campfire and neither was overly enjoyable. To have found such a place that didn’t seem to be in use by anyone else was amazing and R’nd wanted to enjoy it with B’jin and spoil the man that had so much on his plate with so little sleep.
“It’s all ours,” for now, anyway. He knew it and no doubt B’jin did as well. They couldn’t keep such a treasure to themselves after everything that had happened but R’nd was feeling a bit selfish and wanted to keep it as theirs for the time being.
