At first everything was fine, it was even nice, the sound of lapping water was almost relaxing. That is until the water started rising. Firah didn't really start to react until the water rose to his knees. Suddenly his heart rate skyrocketed and his breathing became shallow and fast. Intense fear springs to life in his chest, spreading throughout his body and locking all of his limbs in place as. As the dragon inside receded Firah stumbled back and fell onto the sands with a pathetic sound while clutching at his chest and the ground to reassure himself that he wasn't in the ocean any more. Despite the burning heat that had begun leeching through his trousers he leaned forward to put his head between his knees, trying desperately to take control of the fear that had run wild. "You little fucker." He whispered violently at the egg who now sat dormant in front of him. Firah knew the egg had been teasing him, but shit, you don't tease someone with their worst fear. Once he got himself under control the beastcrafter pushed himself up off of the sand and wobbled away from the Phantasm egg. Whoever impressed it would need to teach the little shit the difference between a good joke an a bad one.
After that experience he seriously considered not touching another one of the eggs. He didn't want to have to endure that particular experience again. While he knew that not all the eggs would be the same as the one he'd just left, there was likely some that would be. Dragons seemed as varied and different as humans, so if there could be humans that were of like mind, there probably could be like minded dragons in the eggs. And, with forty one of them present for him to choose among, the possibility increased.
Taking a breath, Firah picked an egg some distance from the Phantasm egg. Choosing one that looked similar to to the previous one to prove to himself that not all of them had to be the same, he placed his hand on the side of the egg.
