The vivacious greenrider grinned at O'wain as he revealed that he was indeed free on the day in question. She was confident that she would easily be able to enlist his help in the surprise party. She leaned across the table, lowering her voice to barely a whisper.
"I'm planning to throw something together for V'riy. It's his birthday and he's trying to brush it off, as usual. The man loves going to every single social event at the Weyr, and has no problem being the center of attention... but bring up his own birthing day and he looks ready to vomit. But I won't let him get away with it this year," Ce'lie said, snickering softly. "That poor boy doesn't know what he's in for. I'm determined to throw a party for him, and for him to enjoy it."
"And thank you. You sent me flowers? I knew they set up flowers next to my bed for me, but I was sleeping so much I never thought to ask if someone had sent them. Did you really go through such trouble over little old me?" Her eyes sparkled and she gave him an exuberant smile. There was no question that she was back to her old self.
