Nishkath watched the green closely as she moved back and forth across the sky. She had lovely wing and throat markings, especially when seen from below. In a way she was as dark as he was just in the appropriate color. But the lighter underside of her wings, made her wings nearly invisible against the light of the sky above.
You are very beautiful Caxith, he said, conversation not at all distracting him.
As she crooned back at her pursuers, Nishkath glanced at the various blues competing with him to catch her. He veered towards one who was flying to close and easily foiled up his wing, forcing the silly blue to fall back to catch air under his wings again. Niskhath gave a mental laugh, there was more to catching a green than just chasing her.
Suddenly she was right there before him and Nishkath crooned soothingly as he reached for her but before he could even touch her beautiful green hide she had dipped away out of reach. Games, these greens love their games. But he was strong and fast and quite skillful at flying, he will out last any blue here, he was certain. He was also skillful and experienced, and probably far more overconfident than was good for him.
O'wain reached out to claim the handsome blond before him, anticipating claiming the prize only to have it slip away. His mind was very much caught up in the case and his body responding to the motions of his dragon. With a near miss of catching the green, O'wain let his arms fall back at his sides, only time will tell if Nishkath succeeded or not. A distant part of O'wain was aware should Nishkath fail to catch Caxith there will be at least one other disappointed rider who could share his bed instead.
