Grey eyes sparkled with adoration at B’jin stating he always wanted to be caught by the blue pair. “We will,” R’nd promised with a smile, ridiculously happy that B’jin still wanted him around. R’nd may have been the one with the reputation for never letting people get too close and stay too long but he still feared people would shove him away before he wanted something to end. He was messed up and some days even knew that he was with his way of viewing situations and switching his stance when it concerned him. Ayyonth pointed out once that it was a defence mechanism but R’nd, as he often did with thoughts and conversations that left him confused or floundering, had quickly pushed that idea away, leaving it to appear again on him someday when pieces fell together again.
R’nd opened his mouth again to add to the promise of always chasing but thought better of it when he remembered exactly which dragons the two of them were bonded to. The promise to always win on top of chasing would have been foolish to say and made him an oath-breaker likely on the next flight. Ayyonth and Larrikith were fond of each other but they also seemed to plot together and enjoyed mixing things up a little by having another win her flights. That had been proven twice before; once with Ayyonth refusing to budge from his comfortable spot on the ground and the other when they weren’t even informed about the flight. Those weren’t flights to dwell on, however, as S’kef’s win still made R’nd’s blood boil. One day there would be another confrontation with the brownrider for the state he had left B’jin in but for now, R’nd was content to stay true to that word he had given to B’jin as well to stay away.
“Would you like to slip back into the bath?” B’jin and water was a much better combo to think about than revenge and S’kef. Too bad the suggestion came during what was clearly a conversation with a dragon and R’nd frowned at the vague expression and wondered which was talking to B’jin and about what. R’nd didn’t mind Ayyonth chatting up other people without him being in the conversation though that usually meant he was being teased or a secret was being given away to be used against him, playfully, later on.I’m innocent this time, the blue tossed in lightly as his defence but was soon snickering at the way B’jin was frantically checking R’nd out and the way R’nd went wide-eyed and held still under the inspection. When everyone seemed calm again, another kiss was given to B’jin. It was a slight apology for doing whatever it had been to cause that reaction in his lover but mostly because he simply wanted to. There was a certain type of joy that came from kissing the greenrider that hadn’t quite been duplicated with anyone else.
Sitting up, R’nd gazed down at B’jin and took his time admiring the man from toes to head, before standing and offering his hand. “We have an entire bathing room to ourselves and yet the tub remains unused. I think we should correct this.” With their past and their interests R’nd had a feeling the tub was about to see quite a fair amount of use soon enough but for the moment, the offer was innocent and the idea of soaking in hot water after lying on stone for so long sounded wonderful.
And B’jin is teaching some of them, Ayyonth commented about rocks for humans. Some of those kids were doomed to a life of ridicule, if they stood out enough for such attention. Maybe a talk was in order with the Search dragons when they were allowed to go out again about seeking out potential Candidates that had more personality and less of a chance of making their rider happy in bed. That wouldn’t go over well but surely there was a mix somewhere in there? After all, R’nd was Searched and he clearly wasn’t a dud in looks or quirkiness. Ayyonth would have to remember to ask that dragon for pointers.
