B’jin positively glowed with delight as he watched R’nd flake under his touch, the greenrider humming happily under his breath, an impish grin still pulled over his lips and brown eyes bright with simple happiness. He enjoyed seeing other people happy; he particularly enjoyed seeing R’nd happy, and he especially liked being the one that made the bluerider happy! He continued humming as R’nd thought, the tune as light and playful as their moods were; the song it belonged to was an upbeat teaching ballad, with a silly story designed to teach children the names of all the Weyrs and major holdings and halls that looked to each one.
B’jin laughed softly, breaking off his humming and kissing the side of R’nd’s neck. “I don’t need any gifts, dear, and I don’t mind that you know.” (So long as there are no numbers involved! ; Shut it, you.) Another light kiss, and B’jin took up his humming once more, picking up the tune where he had interrupted it as R’nd continued with his babbling. The bluerider really was very endearing! Another light laugh interrupted his tune, and B’jin wrapped his arms around R’nd’s waist, resting his chin on the other man’s shoulder.
Amusement was thick in his voice. “I had no plans, love. I spent the last three days bribing Amorandii’s mother to keep the brat away from me. Her birthday parties are terrifying!” A wicked smirk stole B’jin’s lips as he eyed R’nd sideways, chin still perched on his shoulder. “She’s on the hunt for your birthday now. Apparently you love her more than I do, so you’ll let her throw you a party.” Laughter was thick in his voice, and it was quite clear B’jin had encouraged such a wild hunt in order to distract the girl from his own impending doom. “If we’re lucky, Larri will fly then, too.” B’jin paused a moment, “… preferably when we’re not in a room overflowing with children.” His tone was dry, for that. That would be just like Larrikith.
Oh please, Larrikith grumbled, speaking to the entire little gathering. I have some class! Honestly! As if she’d scar the children like that! B’jin just laughed, rolling his eyes and wiping oily fingers across R’nd’s stomach as he sat up straighter once more, eager fingers gliding over his lover’s back; the action was less massage, and more a lazy excuse to simply touch. His bluerider had such a lovely body!
I think he knows, Larrikith murmured in reply to Ayyonth, curling closer against the blue’s side and nuzzling his cheek. He just chooses to ignore it. She yawned lazily, equally as happy to do nothing for the rest of the day while their humans danced around each other in their usual style.
