“You mean me?” Indivara asked dryly, brushing her hair back with splayed fingers as she scowled irritably at nothing in particular. Her question was mostly rhetorical; no one would call Indivara stupid – at least, not to her face – and she wasn’t even sure they’d go so far as to even agree with her calling herself stupid in passing. It probably wasn’t what most friendships were based around, but Indivara hadn’t really known any other type of friendship than one in which her friends wielded some type of fear of her reactions.
“I dunno.” Indivara shrugged, turning her ill gaze to meet Ryvian’s own. “A bluerider?” Her eyebrows knit her forehead into a furrow of worried wrinkles as she shrugged her shoulders once more. Indivara had never really been one to take note of which rider it was that swept her off to their own little corner of the world when a flight was lost. It had never mattered before, and trips between had always been obtained; Indivara couldn’t rightly recall why she wouldn’t have taken a trip after whatever flight it was that landed her in the mess she was currently in. Perhaps she had! Maybe it hadn’t been enough?
What a terrifying thought!
Blood Sucker flared up when Tryst started scolding him, Indivara’s blue flaring up and spitting as he hissed back, eyes a furious and hot red. Psh gave a shriek of fear, and winked between, reappearing on the other side, secure and safe as she landed in Jada’s lap and creeled pitifully. Like Ryvian had, Indivara completely ignored the pitiful bitching between the firelizards and pet Blood idly when the little pet landed on her shoulder and curled around her neck, sprawling down her chest with a croon.
“Does it matter?” The question was surprisingly genuine as Indivara tilted her head at Ryvian, blinking. She didn’t really care who the fool was – and if she found out, killing him would only cause a lot of trouble, both for herself and in general. It wasn’t one of her friends, so was it important? “What’s he going to do? Hold my hand?” A sly sideways look was given to Ryvian, the girl’s lips twitching slightly. “Figured that’s why I had y–” the girl’s stomach heaved, and she scrabbled away from Ryvian to cough up stomach acid into the bucket with a groan, sending Blood flying in the process.
