The silence after Ryvian’s exclamation seemed to last forever, the silence weighing heavily around the girl as she cradled her arms around her stomach; the move far less protective and far more because it was rolling unhappily and she still felt so ill. How could women do this so regularly? Why would they want to do it at all?! She was already uncomfortable, miserable, unhappy… it would only get worse, too, she knew. She’d get fat – and Indivara had never been bigger than tiny – and she’d get emotional and girly and fat!
Indivara sniffed, the same moment Ryvian decided to break the silence, and the girl choked on the indrawn breath. Coughing and spluttering, Indivara struggled to regain control of her lungs and breathing once more, eyes glassy as she finally sucked in a controlled breath. A moment later, and she was expelling it on a wave of shock, hilarity and horror; “Kerrin? Why- what the - ! – Kerrin?!” The girl struggled to find words, and failed dramatically at linking any of them together, as she stared at Ryvian. Her mouth moved wordlessly for a few moments, before Indivara gave up on that course of action and she threw out a hand, slapping Ryvian around the top of the head. “You fucking idiot.”
Psh gave a shriek, her wings fluttering as Indivara’s emotion spiked all over the radar, before the girl slapped the boy; Blood Sucker took the opportunity and slapped Psh, hissing at her rudely and scolding her into submission before puffing himself up proudly. Indivara’s own disdain for Psh’s colour giving her any extra ‘power’ had relayed through to both firelizards; as a result, Psh was extremely easy to cow, and Blood Sucker was almost as too big for his britches as Indivara herself was.
“Don’t be stupid,” Indivara snapped irritably, ignoring the squabbling firelizards as she scowled at Ryvian. “What a ridiculous notion. Besides,” Indivara gave Ryvian the archest look she could manage, considering she was still feeling cripplingly ill, and her face was far too pale. “If it was him, he’d be dead.” She would kill the bastard that put her in this situation – as soon as she figured out which son of a wher it was. She knew it was a bluerider, and she knew it was a flight loser, and she knew that a trip between hadn’t been obtained. Unfortunately, she was awful at math and whom that added up to was still eluding the girl.
But, ugh! “Kerrin?” Her nose scrunched up, giving Ryvian a thoroughly disgusted look. Of all the people!
