B'jin hugged Talian happily once the young man had initiated it, holding him lightly with a small smirk at the quiet words; yes, one birthday was more than enough, but B'jin was pleased to see Talian wasn't completely horrified by the one he'd been given. He would be getting more - one every year! - because Amorandii enjoyed birthdays far too much for Talian to escape a yearly attack. B'jin was not looking forward to his own, and had a feeling it was Larrikith that kept Amorandii up to date on who was having a birthday, and when. Traitorous beast.
B'jin's expression turned thunderous when both dragonet and Talian yelped, causing Amorandii to flinch away even before Talian got there, the little girl cowering beside her brother and doing her best not to look at B'jin who had his arms crossed angrily, though he was leaving it for the moment to Talian, the young man flying over to his dragon and scolding the little girl.
Amorandii burst into silent tears when Talian started waving his finger in her face, huge blue eyes flooding and overflowing without a word. Displeased, B'jin didn't bother to rescue the child, nor add his word to Talian's. The healer was capable to making sure his dragonet wasn't damaged and the little creature didn't look particularly distressed. Amorandii would take to heart a scolding by her brother far more than one from her father.
"I'm s-sorry!" Amorandii sobbed the words, throwing her arms around Talian's neck when he pulled her in for a hug and burying her teary face in his shoulder. Startled, frightened and crushed at being scolded by Talian, her tears were from the shock of the situation and were quiet, though they didn't stop tumbling down her cheek.
Amorandii snuggled into Talian's lap as he returned them to look at the gift she had chosen for him, the little girl clearly intent on winning back Talian's good opinion smiled watery as the young Healer complimented her work. "Yes," she said softly, one hand tangled determinedly in Talian's shirt, the other hand pointed at the image while B'jin joined them, leaning a hip against the back of Talian's chair and watching placidly.
"This one, this is you! And this is Caguseth! And there, that's Fellis!" Amorandii beamed at Talian, forgetting in her excitement all about her tears and heartache at hurting Khaduceth and Talian and disappointing them and her father. "Daddy painted a picture too, but he said mine was better and we should give you this one!" The girl positively glowed with pride as she shared the compliment she'd received while B'jin swallowed a giggling snort of laughter at the expression he imagined to be playing on Talian's face.
"It's a great painting, Andi. I'm sure Talian will put it in a place of honour!"
Amorandii wriggled gleefully where she was sitting on Talian's knee, turning huge blue eyes on the Weyrling. "Do you like it?" She demanded. He had already said it was pretty, but he hadn't said if he liked it!
