It wasn't that Kerrin had forgotten about the kick-off of classes, or that he'd forgotten what time they started, or any other sensible excuse that would have explained his fashionably late arrival to the charming outdoor 'classroom' where his fellow candidates were no doubt eagerly awaiting his presence. It was just that showing up on time - or at all, really - to a lesson on weyr sexuality wasn't exactly on the top of his list of priorities. After all, he was weyrbred, it wasn't like the instructor would have anything to say that would surprise him; and besides that he liked to think he knew quite a bit about the subject already, thank you very much!
But in the end, somehow or other, it seemed that Kerrin had finally matured enough to realize that attendance was mandatory, not a choice - or perhaps it was more likely that he had just been persuaded to show by one of his more responsible friends. Regardless of the reason, he finally did appear, slipping into an empty seat miraculously only a minute or two after the official start of the lesson. Looking totally unconcerned by his tardiness, Kerrin surveyed the other students present in his class. Most of them he had met in some form or another, and at least two he recognized from those previously Searched for the Renewed Hope clutch. In fact... amber eyes stopped briefly on Volfetti, noting the woman's obviously gravid form. Now here was a student who clearly had nothing new to learn. "Hey," he called, addressing their lecturer without even turning to look at him, for he was nodding towards Volfetti. "Don't you think she should be exempt?"
When he finally did look up to see which of the blueriders - for despite his superior intelligence-gathering skills, that was all he had been able to ascertain regarding the identity of their lecturer before his arrival - had been blessed with the dubious honor of teaching him and his friends this round, Kerrin's smarmy grin immediately dissolved, his expression falling into one of shock and horror as soon as he fully appreciated the looming 7' figure standing before them. "Oh shells, it's G'rem," the boy muttered, and the tone of his voice spoke volumes for those unacquainted with the strict and surly bluerider.
Silently Kerrin rose from his seat, tense from head to toe and looking for all intents and purposes as if he were about to take off running as soon as G'rem so much as twitched a muscle. "Well, it's been fun guys, but I'm a dead man."
