Some people were apprehensive about toting around their firelizards for everyone to see. Erisi was not one of those people. Plague carriers or not, his little Gold served one purpose - endless entertainment. Some dragonriders were visibly upset when they saw Harac riding on his shoulder. It almost made the little prinprick of her claws against his skin worth it to see dragonriders genuinely unnerved. At first, he'd been nervous with having Harac around Charath (the little gold's name was partly inspired by the Green dragon, and on the plus side was fun to yell when she got up to mischief). Charath wasn't bothered by the firelizard's presence, and convinced Erisi that if the plague was going to come there was little they could do about it.
It was sound logic, and well, Erisi really liked his Gold. He imagined people were more unnerved by her because when she grew up she'd clutch, and she'd have so many firelizard babies. It almost made him cackle with delight, but that would startle the flitt on his shoulder and he valued his skin too much to put it at risk. Now that he had gotten over his initial nerves, and his initial distaste for the Gold after their impromptu makeout session, he was truly enjoying himself. The hatchling was spoiled rotten, and was fed an assortment of fruit and slices of red meat. Doubtlessly she'd grow rather plump if Erisi kept spoiling her.
Then again... a fat firelizard would be amusing as well. How would she even get into the sky for flights? Or did they do it on the ground like normal critters? His firelizard knowledge was notably limited.
For once he wasn't actually seeking Valerian out. It just so happened that they seemed to share the same favorite spot. They had little arguments over who had true rights to the tree, but in the end had settled on sharing it (Erisi still wanted the whole sharding tree). Running into Valerian was a coincidence that Erisi did not mind. His fellow Weyrling and Harper was one of the few people that seemed to constantly reside within Erisi's tolerance level. The young man probably didn't even realize how close of a friendship he had developed with Valerian. Friendship didn't interest and entertain him NEARLY as much as other things.
"Oh, look, you're on the right side of the tree." No time for naps, Valerian. Rather, it was time for an abrupt and rude interruption. Erisi plopped down in the spot next to Valerian, not really minding the blue firelizards that his friend was cuddled up with. Harac was briefly disturbed by the sudden transition, but reclined back around his neck as if she was born there. She was worn much like an ornament or an elaborate scarf, and Harac seemed to find it to be comfortable so there was little complaint from the young flitt.
