Aparicus couldn’t help it. No matter how hard she tried to hold it in, she couldn’t do it. There really wasn’t a chance at all. And so it was, the early morning air was broken by a soft squeal of delight as her eyes fell upon a small patch of baby Hibiscus plants. They were clearly only a turn, maybe two old and each had a single flower upon them. So why did the little plants make the farmcrafter so delighted? Because they were not only used as a culinary herb and had beautiful fall flowers – but they were known for attracting butterflies. And Apari had a love for anything beautiful, which certainly included butterflies.
“Oh you beautiful little things!” she said, nearly squealing softly in her delight again as she carefully took a seat next to them, rearranging her skirts so that she’d not squash any of the other nearby plants. “If your roots are deep enough and I’m allowed a few jars, I will most defiantly take you home with me.” She crooned as she gently touched the plants, her gnarled fingers carefully finding the stem and checking it’s thickness. If they could hold up to a transport, the three new shoots would be a huge boon to her little garden which had thus far lacked any of the plant at all. Two and a half whole turns at Katila and this was the first time Apari had managed to stumble upon the plant.
Perhaps this ‘camping trip’ was, in fact, a blessing in surprise!
