Month 05, 741 AL

North: Late Spring | South: Late Autumn
9.9 C to 18.4 C | 13.7 C to 24.5 C

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 06, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries: Season, Low to High
Ista Boundaries: Season, Low to High

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Month 12, 739 AL
North: Early Winter| South: Early Summer
-3.1 to 2.1 C | 20.4 C to 29.4 C

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Month 09, 739 AL
North: Early Autumn| South: Early Spring
13.4 to 21.0 C | 13.8 C to 25.6 C

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Month 07, 739 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself uncommonly warm (~12C / 53.6) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

The late-season weather is settling, with much of the Northern hemisphere coated in snow (the exception being the much warmer Ista region) while Katila remains humid and sweltering in the height of Summer.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

ITS AN UPDATE! HOORAH!

I'm not dead, my loves! This month's Event is 'Close Call!' - have fun! Stamps will be uploaded and on display in our Discord chatroom.

There is a topic here for discussion about Pernese religions and belief systems, including in and out of Weyr opinions (variably and as a whole) in regards to delicate matters, such as birth, death, and the afterlife. Also, ghosts anyone? Now I'm imagining a giant arse dragon ghost....

Healer Hall is accepting Gold Candidates (just from Fort, for now) and R'nya will soon be discussing with his Weyrwoman Rhaedalyn the merits of bringing in additional female candidates.... on the condition they are approved for Healer Apprenticeship...

Thallyath, Casa's little gold dragon, will be taking to the skies for her maiden flight in the first week of April (IC date will be 740-04-01) and while a mate is already decided, this clutch will be PC and more candidates are ALWAYS welcome, whether you want them to Impress this round --- or not!

September 2018

Spring is here! ... In Australia, anyway!

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!

In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!

October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!

As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!

August 2018

ITS AUGUST! Do you know what that means? It means its less than 4 months until Christmas! OMG.

Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!

On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

July 2018

July was July-y.

June 2018

Welcome to the new month! Like always, I'm slack in getting the update up and running, but here it is! This month we have the event 'Summer Fling' - [Link] - which is turning out to be all kinds of entertaining already! Remember, it doesn't have to include smut! It could be an innocent date with some - *gasp* - hand holding!

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

April 2018

Well, it’s halfway through the month which shows you how awful I am at keeping this stuff up to date, haha. Due to my slackness, there is no event this month, but the month of May will be hosting ’Lost Belongings’ wherein characters should find something they – or someone else – lost.

In the meantime, gold Okalinath of Kahleena has taken to the skies! You can find her Flight thread taking place on the 4th, here Currently, there is no planned winner, so be sure to throw your bronzes and browns her way! They do not need to be natives to Telgar Weyr to participate!

March 2018

Welcome to March, my friends!

Unfortunately, this month we don’t have any events set up, so we encourage you to wrap up threads and create some personal plots! Next month will be bringing in a new monthly event (Lost Belongings!) so you can always set your character up for that! If you have ideas for future Events, you can submit them here!. Additionally, you can see upcoming events here!

Speaking of new threads, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

January 2018

Welcome to the New Year, one and all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday season, and we can't wait to see what your characters will get up to over the next twelve months (and beyond!). The Secret Santa Event has been extended until the 30th of January, so for those of you (like me!) who were busy over the end of December, we hope you can get your threads up and running over the next few weeks! There has been a lot of interesting interactions so far! As we extended the SSE, there won't be a specific January event this month! Don't worry though, we have something up our sleeve for February!

With the end of December, our Christmas layout has gone back into hiding! You'll be able to use it again at the end of the year, when Christmas again rolls around. You can expect a new layout for the site in the near future.

December 2017

And so it is December! Can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! At any rate, we have LOTS of fun for you this month! For starters, why don’t you sign up for our Secret Santa Event! Pairs will be assigned on the 14th! You can sign your character(s) up as a Giver, a Receiver or Both! We also hope that you enjoy our Christmas layout, which will be available for use for the entire month of December! After that, it will go into hiding until next Christmas!

We will also be awarding the HORRIFYING MOMENTS stamps to those who qualified for them, as well as the WORDS OF THE MONTH for November. We hope you enjoyed these Events, and you can expect more of them in the upcoming year!

This month we will also be focusing on the RP Records, and request you submit all your threads here so we can update the Timeline! As it says in the thread, the Timeline will be updated every month, in the first week. To help us maintain, be sure to submit your threads as soon as you open them!

November 2017

Welcome to November! We'd love it if you would take the time to Vote in our Horrifying Moments threads! We will also be awarding Stamps for people who vote, not just those who took part! We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did! You can see the Stamps that will be awarded in the Horrifying Moment's thread.

This month we are doing a 'Words of the Month' event! You can choose your word/s as indicated in the thread, and may particpate with as many characters as you desire! This contest has no voting to earn stamps; you get a stamp just for participating! Enjoy!

October 2017

Welcome to October! As part of our Halloween celebrations, the Horrifying Moments event is now open! You may START a thread at any point during the month of October to qualify it for the event! We hope you have a lot of fun with this event, and we look forward to reading your threads! Don't forget to "Like" the threads you enjoy most, so we can award someone the MOST HORRIFYING stamp! Stamps will be revealed later in the month!

September 2017

Welcome to September! This month, we're working on our Awards for the site! We are also advertising avidly! Please welcome any guests or new members with all that warm charm we know you all posess! That said, we are still seeking Affiliates, so if you're here to drop an ad, please consider us!

Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!

August 2017

We are officially open for our relaunch, and are excited to meet and greet new RPers! We're currently looking for all types of characters, including Weyrleaders and goldriders! But we also have lots of room for green and blueriders, weyrfolk, candidates, and all types of Hall folk, such as Masters, Journeymen and Apprentices. If you have any questions, feel free to hit us up in the Cbox or Discord chats, which can be found on the lower part of the screen.

July 2017

We are currently having an event to Create Adoptables! And encourage everyone to take part!

History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.

June 2017

We are on the brink of relaunching! Our history is being rewritten and cleaned up! We are accepting new members, and old! Our advertisment has been re-written, and will be put out there soon. We are also accepting affiliates of all descriptions, genres and themes! If you would like to affiliate with us, please go here
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!

May 2017

Progress has slowed down a little, due to RL events (yay promotions! Boo no internet!) but we're getting back on track! Documents are still being written and we've put together a FAQs page, though its likely to recieve a lot of adjustments as we come across things. The current goal is to have everything set up and ready by July, but we'll see how well we go at that. And by we, I mean ThistleProse. lol.

April 2017

The layout is almost complete, but there is still a lot of work to be done; documents are being written up and can be found in the Site Map menu opion. Players can begin to move their characters' information to their Account Profiles, but be aware some changes may still be made and/or added.
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

General Description:
EYES: Ameris has large wide-set brown eyes that have a lovely almond shape to them. Her eyes are topped with shapely brows and tipped with thick dark lashes.

HAIR: Ameris sports deep black hair that has a touch of a wave to it. It settles nicely just below her shoulders and is usually worn down though she has taken to wearing it in a braid. Occasionally the woman has a fit of pique and chops her hair rather short, though this isn't often.

HEIGHT: 5'6"

GENERAL APPEARANCE: Ameris is slightly below the average height of a Pern woman standing in around 5'6". She has a lean slender build, that belies her strength. She has dark brown eyes topped with shapely brows and thick dark lashes. Her black hair is rather thick and falls to just past her shoulders. Her skin is a dusky brown and rather smooth for all that she enjoys the outdoors. Her face is rather exotic with its high cheekbones, slender nose, and full lips. She has a strong jaw and stubborn chin to go with her more exotic features.

Ameris has always been fit but chasing after a two-year-old has brought a new fit to her body. Her arms are shapely and her muscles well defined in a toned manner, not at all manly. She carries a few stretch marks here and there on the flat surface of her stomach from her pregnancy and a few new scars litter her hands from the building of her own hut when she lived in Katila. Lately, her hands have grown a little softer and less rough.
General Dressing Style:
Ameris is a neat and tidy dresser who enjoys dressing in gowns when the mood strikes. Any other time she would prefer breeches and tunics over the constricting materials of dresses. It's a bit hard chasing after an active toddler in skirts. She prefers to wear her hair down in loose waves that reach just below the shoulder as opposed to up. A choice she is coming to regret when sticky fingers give it a tug.
Frieda Pinto
Personality
Likes:
Growing things: Ameris has a natural "green" thumb. What ever she plants generally grows. She finds nothing more relaxing than planting in her garden.

Children: Never really liked them until her son was born. After he started crawling and making noise she realized how much fun the kiddos could actually be. Ameris will go out of her way to make a child laugh for she thinks the sound is musical.

The Sun: Nothing more lovely than the warmth of the sun. She enjoys waking with a splash of sunlight across her face as opposed to any loud noise.
Strengths:
Honest: Ameris is honest. She doesn't believe in lying and subterfuge. Subtly is not exactly her strong suit and she tends to speak her mind.

Hardworking: Ameris understands what it means to work hard. She's built a life and a family from hard work, beginning with building her own hut after leaving that of her father and enduring the abuse he heaped on her while she was a candidate.

Dedicated: Once Ameris has chosen her path she is dedicated to seeing it through whether it is simply ensuring the headwoman is doing all she is supposed to be doing to making a simple meal.
Dislikes:
The dark: Ameris does not like the dark. When she was a child she used to have nightmares that evolved nasty creatures shooting out at her from the dark.

Her father: Her adult mind says to like him, to get over it and accept a weyrbrats lot in life. Her little girls heart never forgave her father for being there but not. A’mad was a rather absent parent, leaving Ameris to raise herself for the most part after the creation of Katila. His involvement in her life escalated when she began standing for clutches and he became irrational and abusive.

Tunnelsnakes: Ever have one crawl across your toes? A baby to be sure but she remembers the people who died from the bite of one.
Flaws:
Loud mouthed: Ameris has a bad habit of allowing her mouth to run away with her. She often speaks when she should be silent, in the past it has gotten her into far more trouble than the words were worth.

Snarky and short temper: Occasionally Ameris has a snarky and rather short temper view in life. She has been known to pitch a fit over the smallest thing or destroy something in a fit of rage.

Something of a slob: Though her outward appearance, that of Mizeath and her gear is very neat and tidy, Ameris' weyr is often left in shambles. This may be why she tends to spend time outside of it rather than in it.
Habits & Mannerisms:
Ameris has a habit of standing with her arms crossed against her chest and tapping her foot when irritated. She tugs on her braid when frustrated and she has taken to napping in the sunshine as often as Mizeath does.
General Personality:
Ameris is hardworking when she has to be. If she doesn't. Well then she'd rather laze the day about playing with Rislan or playing in the garden she's created. Speaking of the garden. She loves to grow things. Flowers, foodstuffs, you name it she'll grow it. This is the only time she doesn't mind if her clothes are dirty. Sometimes the only thing that will relax her is digging in her garden. She gets a real kick out of Rislan when he attempts to help. She would do anything for her son and is often found in the most awkward positions playing with him.

Ameris has a general dislike of her father. While growing up she understood why her father was distant and disregarded her as was usual with a dragon rider. It wasn't until she was older and he had convinced her to stand that things changed for the worse. She tries to be nice and cordial to him when he randomly visits her and Rislan but that is often not the case. This may be why she held her pregnancy as unwanted. It wasn't until after Rislan was born that Ameris realized that she actually liked children.

She found it slightly odd. She doesn't mind a fling or two but has tried to stay apart from any sort of committed relationship and none of the gold flightlusts she's endured have resulted in another pregnancy. She isn't quite sure whether another one would be as unwanted as her first but she's never had the opportunity to find out.

*Update: With the addition of Mizeath, Ameris has come to grips with what it means to be a goldrider. She's accepted her lot in life, for the most part, and has become pregnant once more. She finds the idea of pregnancy and another baby not as repugnant as she once did.

Important History:
708 & 0: Merris gives birth to Ameris
715 & 7: Plague breaks out
716 & 8: Is taken south by her parents.
718 & 10: Merris is attacked by felines. Her wounds quickly became infected in the humid atmosphere and she dies. Ameris is distraught and A'mad tries to raise the girl as best she can.
719 & 11: Still mourns the loss of her mother but her grief is not as consuming. By the end of the turn her grief has turned to anger.
720 & 11: Nirinath’s call is put forth. A’mad answers, drags a sullen and angry Ameris along. Aside from being in the company of her father is excited at the prospect of being in a weyr like setting again. Anger fades.
720 & 11: Grudgingly helps constructs huts for the basis of the weyr. Isn’t exactly thrilled at the prospect of the work but does it anyway without complaint.
720 & 12: Watches greenrider die of a tunnelsnake bite. Solidifies her irrational fear of the creatures.
721 & 13: Contracts firehead. Nearly dies and is thankful to have survived when so many died from the disease.
722 & 14: Dismisses father when he begins grumbling about returning north. Does not take him seriously until he returns with lashes. Berates him with the help of Midranth until he concedes to listen to his acting weyrleaders. Still thinks he’s an idiot.
723 & 15: Devastated when more dragons and their riders perish.
724 & 16: Doesn’t understand the need for secrecy and isolation from the Northern visitors. Tries to greet them, is found by A’mad and restricted to their hut and receives her first beating.
725 & 17: Storm destroys hut. And amid her tears for the ones lost during the storm and after, Ameris rebuilds.
726 & 18: Heartbroken at the loss of life during an outbreak of firehead. Secretly rejoices that she did not once again join the ranks of ill.
727 & 18: Is rather shocked when Nirinath finally rises. As with some of the malcontent, Ameris was of a mind the gold was too old to rise. Celebrates with the rest at the clutching of seventeen eggs. Is rather disgusted with the fact candidate are stolen instead of properly searched.
727 & 19: Stands at the hatching of Renewed hope. Does not impress a bit sad but unwilling to allow it to linger. Looks forwards to the next hatching.
727 & 19-20: Is saddened when blue Rayrayth goes between but if what they say is true then perhaps it was for the best. The decision to place the insane rider of Rayrayth between was the wisest and more humane.
730 & 21: Isn’t really effected by B’jin’s theft of the honorary master healer.
731 & 22: Becomes pregnant during Nirinath’s second rise. Is unwilling to continue the pregnancy but is unable to go-between to ensure the pregnancy is ended. Applauds D’ren’s decision to halt all candidate stealing. Believes this is the wisest course. Is shocked and dismayed that the lashings are made public when B’jin is publicly lashed. Ameris is not completely in the dark about the happenings of the lashings but believes it should be something between a rider, his/her weyrleader and wingleader not something to be made a spectacle of. Does not stand for the hatching of World Above clutch.
731 & 23: Births son Rislan. 12/09
732 & 23-24: Stands at Rhythm of Life clutch. Does not impress. Niggle of self doubt begins. Stands at Future Designs Clutch. Does not impress. Self-doubt increases.
733 & 24: Stands for Dangerous Days hatching. Does not impress. Self doubts continues and Ameris begins to think that perhaps she should stop standing but hasn’t quite decided to stop.
734 & 25: Receives the worse beating of her life from A'mad. Stands for double clutch. Impresses gold Mizeath from The Hunted clutch
734 & 25: Devastated by the landslide that decimates Katila. Loses friends and lovers. Helps to rebuild what they can.
735 & 26: Mizeath first flight. Winner N'kal and bronze Torath. Clutch name: Bright Lights
735 & 26: Mizeath second flight. Winner L'varl and bronze Korutath. Clutch name: Limitless wonder. Gold egg
736 & 27: Mizeath third flight. Winner M'ris and bronze Mosiath. Clutch name: Strange Worlds. Two gold eggs.
736 & 28: Ameris and Mizeath take over Ista weyr with M'ris and Mosiath after the hatching and successful impression of the Strange Worlds eggs.
737 & 28: Mizeath fourth flight. First flight at Ista as weyrwoman. Winner M'ris and bronze Mosiath. Clutch name: New Beginnings. Gold egg. Mizeath has taken a liking to both Mosiath and his rider. Decides Mosiath is worthy. Ameris becomes pregnant with her second child. Child will be born shortly after her 29th nameday.

Weyrlinghood
A deep, sunny yellow all over, Mizeath’s hide is as simplistic in its beauty as the body it is wrapped around; it has no colour or tone changes, no blemishes and no notable markings. Her wing membranes mellow out to a soft buttery white, while the thicker hide around her joints is slightly darker; the inky black of her claws and the sparkling colours of her eyes are the only real change in spectrum of the young dragon.

Perhaps the most notable thing about Mizeath, however, is her diminutive height to length ratio, something that she does not seem eager to grow out of as Weyrlinghood progresses towards maturity.
Gold Mizeath
Adulthood
Adulthood is a far cry from cruel to Mizeath; the peeling of her delightful infant hide reveals a body of sun touched molten gold. The shades of metallic yellow all interweaving and melding together look like sunlight through a glass of clear water. Almost white shades fight for the right to capture attention against deep amber, swirling together with every mottled shade of yellow, from bright to antique while her wing membranes retain the glossy, buttery shade they had in her youth.

Mizeath is of a long, slender and serpentine build with a lithe and flexible neck and tail both. She is capable of twisting and turning in ways that are far from the regular for a dragon of her colour, and has far more in common with the way a tunnelsnake weaves through the underbrush. Indeed, her similarities to the Pernese pest are only further invoked by the way in which Mizeath’s severely lacking in height and wingspan – both being over four feet lacking for idea proportion upon completion of her growth.

Her elongated limbs retain a femininity about them, perhaps an air enhanced by her serpentine appearance. Her eyes are large in her face, and set high on a face with a broad forehead that slopes into a narrowed muzzle with small nostrils. Her headknobs are slim, and like her limbs, more than a little short for the other measurements of her head and face. In contrast, Mizeath has long, dexterous fingers.
Mindvoice
Mizeath’s voice is gentle, and incredibly feminine. It retains a dedicated, well-bred air about it, as if she were raised in the most proper of households. Her words are clear, concise and carefully thought out before being shared, the serpentine dragon always speaking in full words and never contractions. The gentle, lilting tones of her words are almost musical in the way they are uttered. She speaks with both compassion and conviction, as if she were never unsure of anything though her words are never cruel, mocking or dismissive.
Personality
Mizeath is a very dignified dragon, which radiates a quiet air of gentle calmness, as if there were absolutely nothing in the world that could ruffle her. While this is hardly true, for Mizeath is as ruffle-able as any other is, her placid and thoughtful nature allows her a great deal of acceptance for the way things are, and the way things often turn out. A true lady to the core of her being, Mizeath considers it her duty to be a role model to others, as well as a gentle guide. That she often finds herself modelling and guiding Ameris’ is not lost upon the gold, but nor does it try her.

A quiet observer, Mizeath watches, and waits, thinking over the things she sees so as that she might understand the world around her and those that occupy it so much better. She enjoys learning about stereotypes, and then watching those boxed within climb the walls to prove they are different. That many only prove the cause seems to both befuddle and amuse the dragon, who does not seem to agree that stereotypes are an inherently evil thing; notably, Mizeath appears to use stereotypes commonly herself, to assign a base level of expectation for those around her.

Well-mannered and friendly, Mizeath is an approachable individual, by both human and her fellow dragons. She has a clear, concise manner in which she speaks in general, and her words are never so large as to confuse those lacking intelligence, nor so dull-witted as to bore those who are above even her own rather exceptional level. While preferring to retain a dignified silence, Mizeath is not above speaking and will easily fall into a casual conversation with anyone, about almost anything; Mizeath is a lady, and she has a lady’s fine taste for proper conversational topics. She does not enjoy coarse language or mocking cruelty and gossip can often be a hit or miss option.

Like any finely bred lady, Mizeath will always uphold the utmost dignity in public; she will not shy away or cry out or misbehave while under the eye of those that she believes look up to and are often guided by her input. Despite this, like anyone, Mizeath is not impossible to break and sometimes an escape is needed. Capable of throwing magnificent tantrums, Mizeath will take herself away from public – going inside as a youth, or flying away from the Weyr as an adult – and scream, shout, and break things; she may even swear! – Before calming herself and once more returning to her regal standing and the public eye, as if nothing had happened, and nothing at all had ever bothered her.

As exampled during her Touching, Mizeath does not always approve of Ameris’ thoughts or actions; she is a lady, and she really should behave like one, not pine to be one of the boys – it just isn’t seemly! While Mizeath will never forbid Ameris from doing something she considers unseemly, or improper, the delicate gold dragon will always offer up other options. Ameris need not cut her own wood, for there is a ‘rider next door that would be quite happy to, if she just asked nicely; or that she need not serve dinner – she is a goldrider now, after all, not a servant, but do remember to say thank you, dear.
Quirks
HABITS/MANNERISMS: Lightning storms render Mizeath into a trembling ball of gold; curling up tightly on herself, the serpentine dragon will nearly form a literal circle as she hides herself away in terror from the whipping lights in the sky above. As a youth, Mizeath will take to hiding in the Halls during storms, until she is too big – at which point, she will risk whichever broody queen is hoarding the sands to hide herself away in an unoccupied corner, as far from the entrance as possible.

Mizeath has a habit of twining around objects, in a particularly serpentine manner. Head here, tail tip there, Mizeath’s great golden body will weave between trees, or glow poles, and take up a great deal of length, rather than curling up into a neat ball and using up minimal space. It is most common to find her in such positions during the winter time, when she is basking in the sunshine.

LIKES:
Sunlight: Winter sunlight is something this gold will always enjoy; she likes the way the sun is bright with life, but that the rays are weak as far as convoying heat. Mizeath enjoys curling up in an out-of-the-way location, and soaking in the soft and gentle sunlight for hours on end, even all day if she can get away with it. The weakness of winter sunlight means she is not overheating before she’s even laid down her head, and can enjoy the glory of the blinding light all day.

Stereotypes: Stereotypes are something Mizeath enjoys, for she enjoys having some idea of what to expect of someone – person or dragon – and a stereotype gives her a starting base to begin with; a stereotype gives her a level of expectation and a base from which to pile on delight, or from which to plummet off of from disappointment. She appreciates that starting base, and believes that as much as everyone seems to have nine opinions about stereotypes, she likes them.

Children: Mizeath adores children, be them dragonkind or humankind or any other kind, she finds them endearing and enjoyable and thoroughly enjoys watching them grow and learn. She believes that children should be implemented with good manners and proper behaviour, but she also loves watching them play and will go out of her way to linger around the crèche and will even upon occasion allow herself to be painted with Grith. Children seem eternally incapable of doing wrong when around her, though she will frequently enforce good manners – please and thank you will get you far in life, after all!

DISLIKES:
Sour attitudes: Clearly, Mizeath’s affection for proper manners is high on the dragon’s list of important factors in another; just as clearly, a lack thereof is something she does not appreciate. However, more than ill manners, Mizeath dislikes those with attitudes that are sour – as if they are entitled to something, and that thanks and gratitude are not needed. Such mightier-than-thou attitudes severely displease Mizeath.

Lightening: Mizeath does not like lightening. She cannot really explain her fear, but the frequency of lightning storms at Katila make it quite apparent from an early age that she is not a fan of the flashing electricity. Thunder, however, is enjoyed by the gold; it is simply the electricity she cannot stand – the way it flashes, blindingly, and dashes across the sky. The hot crackle, the unpredictability of it all… She does not like it, at all!

STRENGTHS:
Articulate: Mizeath is an articulate dragon, finding it easy to weave words together in order to not only express what she feels needs to be shared, but also in a manner that befits whomever it is that is listening to her. She is able to manipulate words with a subtle, easy grace that makes her easy to understand without her appearing either more or less intelligent than she is, whilst catering to the intelligence of her listener.

Understanding: The main ingredient to Mizeath’s ability to be so well understood by those she is speaking to is an innate ability to read and understand those that she is in the company of. She can read individuals easily, not so much their mind as their body language, and their manners of conduct give away small things that assist her with deciding on how to respond to them. Her appreciation for stereotypes give her her much adored starting point, and the entire mix creates a dragon that seems to be more aware of what an individual is like or thinking than they believe they are giving away.

FLAWS:
Bossy: There are times, without a doubt, that Mizeath’s attitude can come across as bossy, or demanding. She has an opinion, often, where she is right about what must be done, or should be done, or how it should be so handled. Almost always, this is about exactly how one should behave, in regards to their rank and the expectations that such places upon them.

Bottling everything in: Mizeath’s biggest weakness is undoubtedly her habit of bottling up anything and everything that she does not deem as ‘proper’ for display. Unacceptable levels of joy or anger, pain or hurt – all of them are allowed to be shared in properly lady like amounts, but any more than that is bottled away, stored until it all piles up to become more than she can hold onto any longer. As a result, Mizeath is a dragon that responds with honest emotion to all events, but keeps a careful gauge on how much she shares, and when. Unfortunately, this will result in rare, but unavoidable, explosions. While Mizeath will always fall apart in the privacy of her own company, fall apart she does. Such events are kept strictly to herself and Ameris, while she is careful to always maintain the proper air of ladyship when in the company of others, no matter what emotions are raging under the surface.
