Month 05, 741 AL

North: Late Spring | South: Late Autumn
9.9 C to 18.4 C | 13.7 C to 24.5 C

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 06, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries: Season, Low to High
Ista Boundaries: Season, Low to High

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Month 12, 739 AL
North: Early Winter| South: Early Summer
-3.1 to 2.1 C | 20.4 C to 29.4 C

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Month 09, 739 AL
North: Early Autumn| South: Early Spring
13.4 to 21.0 C | 13.8 C to 25.6 C

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Month 07, 739 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself uncommonly warm (~12C / 53.6) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

The late-season weather is settling, with much of the Northern hemisphere coated in snow (the exception being the much warmer Ista region) while Katila remains humid and sweltering in the height of Summer.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

ITS AN UPDATE! HOORAH!

I'm not dead, my loves! This month's Event is 'Close Call!' - have fun! Stamps will be uploaded and on display in our Discord chatroom.

There is a topic here for discussion about Pernese religions and belief systems, including in and out of Weyr opinions (variably and as a whole) in regards to delicate matters, such as birth, death, and the afterlife. Also, ghosts anyone? Now I'm imagining a giant arse dragon ghost....

Healer Hall is accepting Gold Candidates (just from Fort, for now) and R'nya will soon be discussing with his Weyrwoman Rhaedalyn the merits of bringing in additional female candidates.... on the condition they are approved for Healer Apprenticeship...

Thallyath, Casa's little gold dragon, will be taking to the skies for her maiden flight in the first week of April (IC date will be 740-04-01) and while a mate is already decided, this clutch will be PC and more candidates are ALWAYS welcome, whether you want them to Impress this round --- or not!

September 2018

Spring is here! ... In Australia, anyway!

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!

In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!

October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!

As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!

August 2018

ITS AUGUST! Do you know what that means? It means its less than 4 months until Christmas! OMG.

Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!

On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

July 2018

July was July-y.

June 2018

Welcome to the new month! Like always, I'm slack in getting the update up and running, but here it is! This month we have the event 'Summer Fling' - [Link] - which is turning out to be all kinds of entertaining already! Remember, it doesn't have to include smut! It could be an innocent date with some - *gasp* - hand holding!

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

April 2018

Well, it’s halfway through the month which shows you how awful I am at keeping this stuff up to date, haha. Due to my slackness, there is no event this month, but the month of May will be hosting ’Lost Belongings’ wherein characters should find something they – or someone else – lost.

In the meantime, gold Okalinath of Kahleena has taken to the skies! You can find her Flight thread taking place on the 4th, here Currently, there is no planned winner, so be sure to throw your bronzes and browns her way! They do not need to be natives to Telgar Weyr to participate!

March 2018

Welcome to March, my friends!

Unfortunately, this month we don’t have any events set up, so we encourage you to wrap up threads and create some personal plots! Next month will be bringing in a new monthly event (Lost Belongings!) so you can always set your character up for that! If you have ideas for future Events, you can submit them here!. Additionally, you can see upcoming events here!

Speaking of new threads, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

January 2018

Welcome to the New Year, one and all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday season, and we can't wait to see what your characters will get up to over the next twelve months (and beyond!). The Secret Santa Event has been extended until the 30th of January, so for those of you (like me!) who were busy over the end of December, we hope you can get your threads up and running over the next few weeks! There has been a lot of interesting interactions so far! As we extended the SSE, there won't be a specific January event this month! Don't worry though, we have something up our sleeve for February!

With the end of December, our Christmas layout has gone back into hiding! You'll be able to use it again at the end of the year, when Christmas again rolls around. You can expect a new layout for the site in the near future.

December 2017

And so it is December! Can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! At any rate, we have LOTS of fun for you this month! For starters, why don’t you sign up for our Secret Santa Event! Pairs will be assigned on the 14th! You can sign your character(s) up as a Giver, a Receiver or Both! We also hope that you enjoy our Christmas layout, which will be available for use for the entire month of December! After that, it will go into hiding until next Christmas!

We will also be awarding the HORRIFYING MOMENTS stamps to those who qualified for them, as well as the WORDS OF THE MONTH for November. We hope you enjoyed these Events, and you can expect more of them in the upcoming year!

This month we will also be focusing on the RP Records, and request you submit all your threads here so we can update the Timeline! As it says in the thread, the Timeline will be updated every month, in the first week. To help us maintain, be sure to submit your threads as soon as you open them!

November 2017

Welcome to November! We'd love it if you would take the time to Vote in our Horrifying Moments threads! We will also be awarding Stamps for people who vote, not just those who took part! We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did! You can see the Stamps that will be awarded in the Horrifying Moment's thread.

This month we are doing a 'Words of the Month' event! You can choose your word/s as indicated in the thread, and may particpate with as many characters as you desire! This contest has no voting to earn stamps; you get a stamp just for participating! Enjoy!

October 2017

Welcome to October! As part of our Halloween celebrations, the Horrifying Moments event is now open! You may START a thread at any point during the month of October to qualify it for the event! We hope you have a lot of fun with this event, and we look forward to reading your threads! Don't forget to "Like" the threads you enjoy most, so we can award someone the MOST HORRIFYING stamp! Stamps will be revealed later in the month!

September 2017

Welcome to September! This month, we're working on our Awards for the site! We are also advertising avidly! Please welcome any guests or new members with all that warm charm we know you all posess! That said, we are still seeking Affiliates, so if you're here to drop an ad, please consider us!

Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!

August 2017

We are officially open for our relaunch, and are excited to meet and greet new RPers! We're currently looking for all types of characters, including Weyrleaders and goldriders! But we also have lots of room for green and blueriders, weyrfolk, candidates, and all types of Hall folk, such as Masters, Journeymen and Apprentices. If you have any questions, feel free to hit us up in the Cbox or Discord chats, which can be found on the lower part of the screen.

July 2017

We are currently having an event to Create Adoptables! And encourage everyone to take part!

History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.

June 2017

We are on the brink of relaunching! Our history is being rewritten and cleaned up! We are accepting new members, and old! Our advertisment has been re-written, and will be put out there soon. We are also accepting affiliates of all descriptions, genres and themes! If you would like to affiliate with us, please go here
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!

May 2017

Progress has slowed down a little, due to RL events (yay promotions! Boo no internet!) but we're getting back on track! Documents are still being written and we've put together a FAQs page, though its likely to recieve a lot of adjustments as we come across things. The current goal is to have everything set up and ready by July, but we'll see how well we go at that. And by we, I mean ThistleProse. lol.

April 2017

The layout is almost complete, but there is still a lot of work to be done; documents are being written up and can be found in the Site Map menu opion. Players can begin to move their characters' information to their Account Profiles, but be aware some changes may still be made and/or added.
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

Eye Colour:
Hazel
Height:
5'6
Hair Colour:
Dirty blonde, curly
Build:
Slim
General Description:
Other than her eyes being hazel, there’s nothing overly remarkable about them as they’re not large or even tilted one way or the other. Typical of hazel eyes, however, they do appear more green or brown depending on what colour of clothing she’s wearing.

Rhaedalyn’s hair is sometimes seen as a curly mess when the wind gets to it or it falls free of any clips. The curly locks fall just beyond her shoulders though when wet her hair reaches mid-back. Originally her hair was a medium brown and it still is near the roots and the underside but the strands that see sunlight daily have naturally lightened.

General Appearance: Rhaedalyn is of a delicate build which her formerly pale – but now evenly tanned – skin only played up. She’s rather slim with only a hint of womanly curves on a petite stature. Any height she does have comes in her slender legs being long. Saying she has any muscular definition would be kind as she is essentially a stick. Some believe the girl doesn’t eat enough, if at all, with how slim she is and how they swear they can count her ribs. But Rhaedalyn is comfortable with her size and knows she eats properly; it’s not her fault she can eat whatever she wants and not gain weight for it!

She has an oval-shaped face that barely supports her large mouth that seems to take up her face when she smiles brightly though her lips aren’t plump and luscious like some of the other women running around the weyr. Her chin is somewhat narrow but it complements her thin nose, keeping a nice line of symmetry and proportion which makes Rhaedalyn appear to be something more than just another face in the crowd. She likes to think she’s pretty and most of the time, that’s all that matters to her!

The one thing that oddly gives her a bit of a complex is her teeth. She finds them to be freakishly straight and even, as if they’re just one piece of enamel with some lines drawn on. This odd quirk of hers makes it hard to come to terms with her smile and she will sometimes try to hide behind her hand when laughing.
General Dressing Style:
Rhaedalyn enjoys being a girl and dressing like one. Skirts and dresses dominate her wardrobe. The dresses have a form-fitting bodice though her normal day wear doesn’t show cleavage – not that she has much to show – and the skirts are long and flowing. She will typically stay in that style of dressing even when assigned to the crèche or out picking numbweed or berries since they provide more freedom to move around in and she doesn’t like being overly restricted like she believes pants do to her.

Colour-wise, Rhaedalyn will wear anything from earth tones to more vibrant colours. However, she tends to stick with the colours of Autumn though she couldn’t say why except they’re pretty and she’s drawn to them.

Personality
Likes:
Baking: She may not be the best baker around but Rhaedalyn does enjoy tinkering about in the kitchen. She’s extremely good at cookies and that’s about it. Don’t ask her to cook a full meal! It might work out but you might regret it later as well.

Romance: It’s great being in love! Or so Rhaedalyn believes. She has yet to find the man that captures her heart but she knows exactly how it will happen. Well, she has enough fantasies of her prince swooping her off her feet to cover all bases anyway. Flowers, dinner, dancing, staring into each other’s eyes… why do so many people hate romance?

Animals: The cute and cuddly or dragon variety, anyway! Wherries and vicious felines need not apply for her love. Rhaedalyn likes the idea of having domesticated felines curled up with her when she sews or sleeps, finding their purring to be soothing and their quiet companionship to be comforting. The idea of a dragon bonded to her makes her smile since it would be a constant she could lay her trust in and know it would be returned.

Clothes: At a young age, Rhaedalyn loved dressing up and wanted to change clothes several times a day because she wanted to show off her wardrobe. This turned into a desire to make clothes which led her into tailoring. Now, she loves showing off her own work which she wears proudly and will be glad to make items for friends as well.
Strengths:
Clever: Rhaedalyn, while not the smartest kid in any class she’s ever been in, is clever and prides herself in seeing the larger picture and figuring out all options.

Creative: Being creative helps her in areas where cleverness is needed as much as an unique viewpoint. Thinking outside the box never hurts!

Adaptable: She will also find a way to adapt to all situations. Being kidnapped for Katila’s future wasn’t something she wanted nor did she overly like the actual lifestyle but she’s learned to accept it for what it is and find aspects she enjoys. Being allowed and encouraged to make clothes and mend others has helped with this.
Dislikes:
Running: Ew, getting sweaty! Rhaedalyn is not one to enjoy physical labour and there’s nothing at all attractive about running. You sweat, you smell, you pant, and you make funny faces. The pain in her side after running anywhere is not worth saving a few seconds or pleasing teachers enforcing healthy routines on them.

Direct Sunlight: Being in the sun for extended periods of time is something she tries her best to avoid. Given her pale skin when she first arrived to the hot South, she burned easily and that was most uncomfortable! When the burn faded into a tan, she felt dirty, not at all used to seeing herself so dark. Not to mention that the hotter days made for sweaty days, something she doesn’t enjoy at all. Hats have become common attire.

Crying Kids: She has nothing against children of any age, honest! She can even appreciate their innocence as well as their direct way of seeing things or telling it as it is but the crying needs to stop. It makes her cringe and if the crying goes on for too long, a headache forms.
Flaws:
Trust Issues: Rhaedalyn is a bit shy when she first meets someone. This is due to her trust issues. Even she can’t quite explain what brought that on but she’s very cautious around new people and won’t put her trust in anyone until they’ve proved they deserve it. Once she gets to know someone and likes them, she’s very bubbly and open.

Cunning: Saying she’s manipulative might be a bit of a stretch but when she feels like she’s not getting her way or a man might not be paying her enough attention, she’s more than willing to play up her delicate appearance and have it seem like she can’t do anything lest she break.
Habits & Mannerisms:
Rhaedalyn often tries to hide behind her hand when laughing since she doesn’t like her teeth, which is interesting since she giggles a lot. She’ll also twirl locks of hair around her fingers when she’s lost in thought or bored which many assume is a constant thing with how regularly she’ll do it during meals or lessons. When she’s nervous or anxious, cleaning is the distraction of choice even though she’s normally not a neat freak – though she’s hardly a natural disaster blowing through a room either.
General Personality:
Rhaedalyn is rather sweet; once you get her to open up. She wants to make friends with everyone but it’s a bit difficult when she won’t blindly trust people immediately after meeting them. People can be deceptive and she wants to know their true face before falling for the false one. Once she’s comfortable with someone, she’ll open up more about herself and relax.

While she may try to avoid those with more boisterous and outspoken opinions of the negative variety, Katila is a small community and she can’t really escape anyone so she often ends up bullied into going along with what her fellow Candidates are up to. Despite that, however, she can and often will argue her standpoint as she usually believes herself to be right. In the end, it’s still likely she’ll be overpowered – not necessarily in a physical manner – and give up. Sometimes it’s just easier to go with the popular opinion!

Rhaedalyn is, in truth, kind of ditzy. She thinks she’s intelligent but it doesn’t go very deep and in the end she’ll end up basing decisions on appearance or what she thinks will earn her points with people. It isn’t that she doesn’t pay attention, she does! It’s just that some information refuses to stick or a topic is too deep and complicated for her simple views on things for her mind to handle.

Important History:
709 & Born: Rhaedalyn is born to Rhaede and Marnie, their first child.

710-714 & 1-5: Rhaedalyn is the typical spoiled baby girl even with two of her siblings being born. Her father is a busy Healer but her mother spends all of her time with the children.

715-719 & 6-10: The births of her next two siblings don’t change the amount of attention her parents give to them all. Rhaedalyn is often read fairy tales with happily ever after endings and all adults around her encourage her to find her own, except for the Harper charged with teaching the young girl who wishes she was more grounded.

720-722 & 11-13: Rhaedalyn starts dabbling with creating her own fashion style and teaching herself how to sew enough to improve existing articles with her own little touch. The Harper tells her about Southern Boll but her parents don’t want her travelling that far away and keep her at home.
723 & 14: While the typical age for joining a Hall is twelve, Rhaedalyn doesn’t receive permission to start a tailoring apprenticeship until just before her fourteenth birthday. Her parents considered marrying her off to a lord and wanted to keep their options open early on. When she showed a true passion for clothing and a friend within Telgar Hold said he could get her an apprenticeship with their tailor, thus keeping Rhaedalyn closer to home, her parents agreed.

724-728 & 15-19: Rhaedalyn lives within the Hold in a small room she shares with another apprentice and studies regularly with the Harper to help educate her (no one would say Telgar denied luxuries to their wards!) as well as learning daily the basics of sewing and moving into more complicated patterns. She also catches glimpses of the Telgar heir early on and as she grows older, a crush develops on the man she’s never had a chance to speak to. He’s so handsome and surly a kind soul!

729 & 20: A few months after her twentieth birthday, walking back to the main Hold after a fun evening of dancing at their sponsored Gather, Rhaedalyn is approached by a handsome man that knew all the right things to say. She doesn’t trust easily but still she’s flattered by the attention and had a glass of wine making her relax a bit more and falls into a conversation with the man. While dancing in the moonlight to a song the man sang for them, she was suddenly grabbed and carted to a dragon. Upon seeing the beast, Rhaedalyn quickly fainted and woke again on Candidate Isle to her new life.

730 & 21: She’s still not overly thrilled with Katila or how she was taken there but Rhaedalyn tries to find the best in the situation. Slowly she starts to understand her skills in tailoring is needed as well as her high chance of Impressing one of the dragons Pern will be in need of again.

731 & 22: Her first Hatching! Rhaedalyn doesn’t know what to expect, despite the classes she attended. When the mauling began, she did her best to stifle the screams they were warned not to make and barely kept from fainting. So much blood! At the end of it all, she hadn’t Impressed and while disappointed, felt it was for the best as she wasn’t ready yet. But Rhaedalyn knew that she did want the honour after seeing her classmates with their bonded.

732 & 23: Another Hatching! Another disappointment for Rhaedalyn. Both clutches had seen a gold break shell and she was convinced she was destined for that colour, though she supposed a green could be rather lovely as well since they were so graceful and elegant in the air. She struggles briefly with the guilt of disappointing the weyr by still not Impressing and continues to ignore D’ren’s announcement that women need to have at least one child before Standing. After all, not only did she want to stay pure for the love of her life but she had been filed away with other Candidates that seemed right for gold and had still be shoved onto the Sands when the little cutie popped out. Some rules didn’t apply to everyone!

733 & 24: It finally happens! Rhaedalyn Impresses to Gold Aradissicath and she’s thrown into the life of a Weyrling while continuing her budding relationship with bluerider Z’ia.

734 & 25: Everything seems to happen this turn. She has her maiden flight where her dear friend and protector, bronzerider R’nya, wins. The landslide steals away two of her closest friends; V’zire and Mevrit. Aradissicath clutches and has a successful Hatching of 42 eggs.

735 & 26: A second flight with R'nya resulted in pregnancy which broke up her relationship with Z'ia. The clutch hatched without issue and Rhaedalyn gave birth to a baby girl, Alyren. Near the end of the turn Aradissicath flies again and Xyreith once more wins.

736 & 27: With R'nya being chosen to become Weyrleader for Fort, Rhaedalyn is shocked and honoured that she's chosen to go with him at his side. It's a lot of responsibility on her shoulders but she does her best to help get everything organized and in the end also adopts Varlea.

Weyrlinghood
Aradissicath hatches an almost shockingly pale golden colour, her hide a milky cream that is rather splendid and rivalled in its pale nature only by the white-blue hide claimed by Pistoth. Despite the rather shocking first impression of her hide, Aradissicath is rather unremarkable as far as youngsters go. While well structured, she does not contain that needed air of a splendidly crafted creature; rather, her natural awkwardness and clumsy nature cause her to look as if she is in a perpetually confused state.

During Weyrlinghood, she will often struggle with ground work, her limbs seemingly too awkward for the young gold to control; as a result, it will not be an uncommon sight to see Aradissicath with her nose planted firmly in the ground, rump in the air as she struggles to regain what little dignity she may have left. Her ability in the sky will prove somewhat more naturally inclined, though she will struggle terribly with special awareness, often barely managing to skim rooves and trees.
Aradissicath
Adulthood
As she grows, Aradissicath will retain her slightly rumpled air; her nose often flared from recent planting in the dirt, will give her a startled impression despite her regularly calm and peacefully swirling eyes. However, adulthood will reveal a spending colouration for Aradissicath; splendid shades of molten gold weave and swirl across her body, mingling and fading into one another in a manner that both draws the eye in, and tricks it as her hide creates an alive, almost moving appearance as one’s gaze moves across it. Her wing membranes continue the effect; though mostly lighter in shade, they appear luminescent and almost see-through under the direct glare of the sun.

Her body at full growth is large, bigger than a great deal of the other dragons, but she is slim and delicate. Each line of Aradissicath’s body is fine and precise. While she will never be an example of proportional perfection, her odd lengths and elongated limbs work well for her – when she can control them, at any rate. She is exceedingly feminine, with a streamlined build and large wings made for long glides and smooth flights. She will never be a bony or underfed appearing creature, but she will never be rounded or carry an ounce of extra weight, either. Every ounce of her is built into wiry muscles wrapped around slender bones and covered in a gorgeous golden hide.

Pregnancy will look truly awful on her. Her small, narrow body will balloon out at the guts as her eggs develop, making her look extremely potbellied and wormy. Despite the attack at any vanity, pregnancy will agree with Aradissicath, who will carry herself through the process with a dignified air, and a literal glow that will – in the beginning – confuse a lot of people who will think the dragon must be getting Proddy once more.

As she grows, Aradissicath will retain her slightly rumpled air, her nose often flared from recent planting in the dirt, will give her a startled impression despite her regularly calm and peacefully swirling eyes. Her limbs and wings are long, and grow more swiftly than she appears capable of keeping up with; gravity will be a debilitating factor in her youth, though as she grows, Aradissicath will master both gravity and her limbs. She will always retain an air of awkward gangly-ness, but she will conduct herself with pride and dignity – even if she never does manage to keep her nose permanently out of the soil.
Mindvoice
Aradissicath has a low toned, melodic voice that is both pleasant and soothing. In times of distress, it becomes sharp and clipped, but such occurrences are few and far between - excluding her times upon the Sands. Despite her pretence for winding up in embarrassing circumstances, Aradissicath's voice rarely belies any such emotion; rather, her warmth and general acceptance for life and the things it dishes out can be heard washing through the lyrical manner in which she speaks when amused.
Personality
Aradissicath is a genuine, sweet dragon that was immediately attracted to the bright, imaginative nature of her rider-to-be. She enjoys slow, lazy flights where the wind is breezy and the clouds are gentle and the two girls can daydream peacefully, even if Aradissicath’s attempts at landing are often a jarring and vicious reminder of the fact that life is very real, and imagination, is exactly that. Her spatial awareness skills lacking dramatically, she will often have difficulty with the simple things like avoiding tree tops, and other dragons – something that will cause some drama in her Flights as she misjudges distances, and spaces, and won’t be uncommon for her to crash into a male she was attempting to tease, usually resulting in him being so shocked he will drop out of the sky.

Pregnancy will agree with Aradissicath’s nature, even if it leaves her physical appearance more than a little wanting. The combination of the ungainly and the ungraceful will have Aradissicath quickly coming to enjoy and dote upon the silence and daydreaming possibilities being an egg factory will bring to her, at regular intervals. This, however, will naturally result in a snarky, unhappy dragon when her quiet daydreaming time is interrupted for such annoyances as seeing how many eggs she laid, or Touching those eggs – or, for Faranth’s sake! – the drama and mayhem of Hatching day, which will also take away her wonderful quiet time; at least until her next flight!

Aradissicath is not a particularly withdrawn creature; while she would much rather watch the world go by and quietly babble her stories to Rhaedalyn and a few selected members of her scarce audience, Aradissicath is not afraid to voice her displeasure when things do not go her way. Unfortunately, this dragon’s idea of letting other’s k now how unhappy she is, is to throw a spectacularly childish tantrum, something that is usually enhanced with unintended ‘gold force’, which can result in some dragons taking some obscure actions in response!

At the end of the day, however, Aradissicath is a sweet natured and gentle dragon that likes nothing more than to laze around in the sunshine with her rider, or sprawl on the sands while the eggs heat and harden, or even curl up in the shade and try to stay somewhat out of the fierce weather that her home is bound to bring bearing down on her – and day dream about all the amazing things the imaginative dragon, and her romantic rider, are capable of coming up with.
Quirks
Aradissicath has a fascination with stories, something that is first sparked by the daydreaming quality in Rhaedalyn, and it is something she encourages strongly in her bonded. She enjoys nothing so much as sitting in the far corner of the woman’s mind, and watching the scenes that play out across the vivid screen of Rhaedalyn’s mind.

As she matures, Aradissicath will take to first adding to Rhaedalyn’s fantasies, before eventually evolving to the point where she will create fantastical stories of her own, with heroes and damsels and romance and all the amazing ups and downs that she picks up from around her as she grows. At first, her audiences will be small, namely Rhaedalyn herself, before slowly expanding over the years, though she will never be particularly keen to broadcast to large audiences; instead, she prefers small groups that usually consist of adolescent women who are capable of fully embracing the wonders she puts together for them.

Because being pregnant often renders her incapable of true flight, or even getting around very far, never mind how ungainly it makes her in general, Aradissicath will come to truly love the time she is bound to the ground by her bulging belly; after all, what better time is there for her to listen to the stories she so loves, to daydream with Rhaedalyn, or to eventually tell her own to an eagerly awaiting audience?

Aradissicath also enjoys watching bronzes hunting; the way the creatures control the air, and move the herds, before finally swooping down to take out their chosen prey! She seems to envision it as a great hero, dropping down from the skies above to slay the fearsome beasts and save the fair maiden from a terrible fate! In contrast, Aradissicath is almost shockingly delicate when it comes to hunting herself; she is fussy, particular and often prefers to eat smaller creatures that require less umph in order to kill. Despite that, flight lust makes her vicious, and messy.

Dislikes: Being an imaginative and intelligent creature herself, Aradissicath will naturally grow to find the dull-witted and the unimaginative to be particularly distasteful to be around. She cannot understand those with linear thought processes, and will often become frustrated by the frank A to B process many people, and dragons, function by.

Aradissicath is also a broody dragon, and her time on the sands will often be difficult and irritating for those that have to function around her. She hates candidates, not because they want to touch her eggs, so much as because they are obnoxious creatures that interrupt her peace and quiet of well-deserved day dreaming opportunities! Aradissicath enjoys being sand-bound, as she finds it a wonderfully quiet and peaceful time to develop stories, listen to those of others, day dream with Rhaedalyn, and generally be doted upon. Unfortunately, as soon as that doting includes unwanted talk, noises, or interrupting her at a critical point in her own mind – Aradissicath is prone to become unreasonable.

The result of that is that Aradissicath resents those that peer onto the sands to get a good look at her eggs, she resents the candidates that want to touch her unhatched babies, and she hates Hatching day – especially because Hatching day takes away her right to lounge on the Sands and imagine all the wonderful things to her heart’s content. This makes Aradissicath broody, and she will develop habits of protecting her eggs from sight, or the usually entirely placid dragon snarling and snapping to chase creatures from the Sands she doesn’t want there. Aradissicath absolutely loathes sharing the Hatching Sands with another dragon and her clutch.

Habits/Mannerisms: Aradissicath’s possessive nature when it comes to the Sands will become apparent from the first time she realises how wonderful being sand bound is. Be it her first clutch, or her fifth, when she realises it Aradissicath will transform from the genuinely cheerful and pleasant dragon that the Weyr will come to treasure, to a snapping, irritable grumpy bum that will deeply resent those that interrupt her wonderful daydreaming time.

Aradissicath has a natural clumsiness that she finds both amusing and embarrassing. Her youth will often be spent with her nose buried firmly in the ground, and grains of sand up her nose will not be uncommon. Despite her lack of grace, Aradissicath will always carry herself with dignified pride, and often give the air of ‘I meant to do that’ when she does manage to trip.

No matter how well Aradissicath will come to control her body in later life, this imaginative gold dragon will always have a lot of trouble with spatial awareness. Hunting will be difficult for her to learn, and landing will be dangerous and often result in stomach-jarring drops or heavy landings when the ground isn’t where she thought it was. She will often bump things with nose, tail or wings as she misjudges the distance and how much room she has to work with. It isn’t even that Aradissicath believes she is smaller than she is; she is simply incapable of judging the amount of space surrounding her.

Strengths: Despite her vivid imagination – or perhaps because of it – Aradissicath is a remarkably unflappable dragon (hatching sands aside) who finds the ups and downs of life to be of no major consequence and certainly not worth getting upset over. They are, however, amazing fodder for her imagination and Aradissicath will take every experience – the good, the bad, and the meh – and somehow weave it into the fantasies she will come to develop to entertain her sweet bonded.

Despite her enjoyment of talking, Aradissicath is an avid listener, and while some dragons are anxious to make sure their every word is heard, Aradissicath can go days without so much as uttering a word – sometimes not even to Rhaedalyn! – as she simply listens, watches, takes in the swirling progress of life with softly coloured eyes. Then, when she is ready, Aradissicath will share with the chosen recipients the story she has developed in her silence.

Where Rhaedalyn is shy, and cautious, Aradissicath occassionally embraces a more forthright personality; she isn’t afraid to step up and she will encourage her bonded to do the same if she feels it is needed. She will never require to be in the spotlight, and besides her story telling moments, Aradissicath will be quite happy to just sprawl off to the side and watch placidly. There is no get up and go-go-go in her, but Aradissicath sees no need to be cowed into silence, either. She’s happy to speak out – when she has something to say. It just doesn’t happen very often.

Weaknesses: Like Rhaedalyn, Aradissicath is a dreamer; with an adventurous soul but a lazy body, she sees no reason to act upon the fascinating things she is capable of imagining – imagining them is quite enough! – but her dreamy and quiet nature can make her seem unintelligent, or standoffish, depending on the circle in which she is currently not engrossed. Perhaps what truly makes this aspect a weakness, is the fact that Aradissicath simply doesn’t care. She doesn’t care to impress the Weyr, she doesn’t care to babble mindlessly, and she certainly doesn’t care that that results in some thinking she is far less intelligent than she actually is. Unless someone directly insults her imagination, Aradissicath couldn’t care if she tried.

However, should someone insult her imagination, or her most precious bonded, than Aradissicath can be vicious, and petty. Very petty. If someone expresses distaste toward the things she makes up, the stories she creates, or insults her works as a whole or in part, Aradissicath will immediately shun them. They are unworthy of her time, her attention, the very air they breathe. Well, except to make their lives a living misery for as long as she can remember she hates them for.

Until – unless – Rhaedalyn learns to control her, Aradissicath will punish those she considers impolite or rude by the most childish, petty tantrums she is capable of having, occasionally throwing her weight and natural rank of being a gold around - stupid, childish things like to go 'jump off a cliff' and not realising she's enforced it with her rank.

For as long as she can remember it, Aradissicath is incapable of forgiveness. Once burned, she refuses to let go of her negative reaction. The act of upsetting the dragon will usually come in two forms – an attack upon her imagination, or even more unforgivable, an attack upon her rider. Rhaedalyn is her life, her heart and soul, and anyone that dares to harm her rider – whether that harm be brought about to Rhaedalyn’s mind or body – is totally and completely unforgivable.
