Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.
The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.
Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.
Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.
Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.
Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.
Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.
The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring
Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.
The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring
Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring
Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.
The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.
North: End Summer | South: End Winter
Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.
The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.
The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.
The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.
The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

Soft, peachy skin objects to the Southern sunlight, often causing R'nya to burn in the summer months, though he fares much better in the cooler seasons; it appears to be incapable of tanning. He claims no freckles, and though he has no particular explanation for that, he is pleased. Freckles are many things, but they are not something he wishes to lay claim to.
R'nya takes particular care of his physical appearance, being sure to have his hair trimmed and his face shaved regularly, though he is no stranger to a 'scruffy' look, and tends to wear it well. It gives an air to the man that he finds useful and appealing, especially when surrounded by so many damned pretty boys. R'nya is not afraid to get his hands dirty, and so can be seen with the marks of his current chore, such as dirt or grime or fish guts. However, he also takes very thorough baths to ensure such evidence never makes it home.
Riding leathers and gather outfits are kept carefully maintained and stored away for use when needed. However, he dislikes wearing his leathers in particular, due to the heavy heat of the Southern seasons, and the lack of actual flying he gets to do.

Thoughtful humour: R'nya enjoys quietly thoughtful humour, as opposed to loud, brash or crass styles that are most commonly found among his fellow riders, particularly those of blue and brown dragons, though if pressed for an admittance, he will grudgingly agree that a crass sense of humour is preferable to no sense of humour. Those that are incapable of enjoying themselves, unable to smile or laugh, are in need of some help. Life is too harsh, not to enjoy the simple pleasures and easy laughter. Despite this, R'nya himself very rarely laughs, usually expressing his appreciation of humour with sparkling eyes and a twitch of his lips.
Children: In small doses, and usually from a distance, R'nya enjoys the refreshing outlook children have on life. He tends to find them wise beyond their years, and finds it amusing when they are more insightful than their adult counter parts. He also very much approves of the work-and-play life the Weyrbrats at Katila have grown up with, feeling that the children of the Weyr will benefit far more from knowing the difference between and how to balance their requirements for work and desire to play, than other children their age up North.
That was before he had five daughters, and an unofficial foster son. All of whom he loves unconditionally and spoils relentlessly.
Follower: At his core, R’nya is a follower; his reliability and his stout conviction that the hierarchy is to be obeyed make him a perfect soldier. He will never question the orders given to him by those who outrank him, something that has caused him to do distasteful things in the past, but he is strongly of the belief that superiors should never be questioned.
Leader:
Troublemakers: R'nya finds troublemakers to be tiresome and more effort than they ever prove worth, especially those that just never seem to learn. Keeping one's nose out of trouble isn't that much effort, is it? Particularly after one has been punished, or seen a friend punished. But still they continue. It is something he is simply incapable of comprehending and instead he finds he will simply do his best to avoid troublemakers, and those situations which most commonly call to them.
Pointless babble: While not necessarily a bad thing to someone who is a self admitted listener above all else, even R'nya can get more than his fill of pointless babble, and he finds those people with a bad case of motor mouth to be the cause of major headaches. They often have very little in the way of things to add to a conversation, and what junk does flood past their lips is very little use to even the worse collector of information. In exchange, R'nya quite enjoys being around gossips and eves-dropping on what it is they feel is important, and the odd things they seem to believe - or admit to making up. R'nya will never punish someone for gossiping, even if what they are talking about could be taken as insubordination: he relies too much on their babbling for his own reasons to make himself a target for silence.
As a result, R'nya has developed a quirky sense of humour and a coy not-quite smile that often is almost visible curling one corner of his lips. He is amused by those that consider themselves worth more than another for a multitude of reasons that are often less than true: higher intelligence, a better dragon hide, a more comfortable rank. Such things can be misjudged, or easily taken away and so the bronzerider finds it amusing when others take such comfort and security in them. In relation, he finds children to be remarkably honest, insightful and blunt little humans and enjoys spending time in their general vicinity, though he isn't particularly eager to actually care for them.
R'nya is a relaxed and generally placid man, that is difficult to rile up or irritate. Normally, he finds attempts to do so amusing and intriguing. Sometimes, he will ask the instigator what they hope to achieve by their attempts, but for the most part he simply waits for them to do something that he can call them up for: insubordination is usually the first to rear its head. While R'nya is not a vicious man, or even cruel, he will report a case of insubordination to his Wingleader with a raised eyebrow and mild scepticism, as if wondering how the accused actually thought their point was going to come across in such a manner -- unless, of course, they were attempting to be a martyr.
Unlike a lot of his fellows, R'nya is not particularly colour biased. He can see, acknowledge and understand the benefits and quirks of each colour. He is far more focused on the system of ranks, feeling strongly that one should look up to those above them and strive to reach a standard to which one might increase their own standing. He also believes in acknowledgement of rank, and the displaying of the correct manners and etiquette when around those of higher standing, regardless of what colour dragon they ride - or even if they ride a dragon at all. Additionally, R'nya is not a particularly sexist man, but he does follow the trend of believing women do better at home with the children, or in properly lady like allocations. He will treat those of rank, especially high crafters, with something almost akin to reverence, for he feels that a woman who can so make herself known in such an area must surely be worth renown.
Because of his fierce dedication to his own rank, R'nya is a very reliable and trustworthy lackey to those he stands beside. He is a watcher, and a thinker, always considering his words carefully before opening his mouth. The result of which is that his words are usually received well and considered. He is also determined, and upon being given a task, he will not stop until he has accomplished it to not only the best of his ability, but to his own desired requirements. He aims high, but his record of hitting his goals are almost as steady, and his results are well received.
R'nya considers himself a fair man, and treats others fairly by his own standards and expectations. He expects to so be treated in return, giving his due to those who rank above him, while expecting his due in return. For all the punishments he doles out, R'nya would take any laid upon him without batting an eye: if it has so been deemed by his senior, than so it must be. While he is not incapable of seeing those that abuse their power, he is incapable of bringing himself to object, because they deserve that power, through the hard work they utilised in order to gain it.
