Month 05, 741 AL

North: Late Spring | South: Late Autumn
9.9 C to 18.4 C | 13.7 C to 24.5 C

Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.

The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.

Month 12, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.

Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.

Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.

Month 07, 740 AL

Fort Boundaries:
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.

Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.

Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Month 04, 740 AL
North: Early Spring | South: Early Autumn
−1.9 C to 4.7 C | 20.0 C to 29.0

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Month 12, 739 AL
North: Early Winter| South: Early Summer
-3.1 to 2.1 C | 20.4 C to 29.4 C

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

13.4 to 21.0 C | 13.8 C to 25.6 C

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.

The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Month 08, 739 AL
North: Late Summer | South: Late Winter
17.4 to 25.5 C | 10.8 C to 23.2 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Month 07, 739 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
18.0 to 26.6 C | 10.2 C to 21.9 C

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself uncommonly warm (~12C / 53.6) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.

Month 11, 738 AL
North: Late Autumn | South: Late Spring

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.

The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 10, 738 AL
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring

Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.

Month 09, 738 AL
North: Start Autumn | South: Start Spring

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.

The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.

Month 08, 738 AL
North: End Summer | South: End Winter

Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.

The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.

The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.

Month 07, 738 AL
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter

Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.

The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.

The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

ITS AN UPDATE! HOORAH!

I'm not dead, my loves! This month's Event is 'Close Call!' - have fun! Stamps will be uploaded and on display in our Discord chatroom.

There is a topic here for discussion about Pernese religions and belief systems, including in and out of Weyr opinions (variably and as a whole) in regards to delicate matters, such as birth, death, and the afterlife. Also, ghosts anyone? Now I'm imagining a giant arse dragon ghost....

Healer Hall is accepting Gold Candidates (just from Fort, for now) and R'nya will soon be discussing with his Weyrwoman Rhaedalyn the merits of bringing in additional female candidates.... on the condition they are approved for Healer Apprenticeship...

Thallyath, Casa's little gold dragon, will be taking to the skies for her maiden flight in the first week of April (IC date will be 740-04-01) and while a mate is already decided, this clutch will be PC and more candidates are ALWAYS welcome, whether you want them to Impress this round --- or not!

September 2018

Spring is here! ... In Australia, anyway!

This month’s riveting event is ‘Seas of Fun’, in honour of International Pirate’s Day! After all the drama with the fires, we expect that taking to the sea (or lake, river, pond, etc) would be a very relaxing way to spend some downtime for many dragonriders and Holderfolk alike!

In preparation for October, the even is “Memories of the Past”, which we hope will be a fun way to explore your character’s past, either in solo posts or threads, as inner monolog or as back posting! How you choose to partake is entirely up to you!

October will also see our next PC HATCHING! In order to have your Candidate qualify for Impression, they must have no less than 20 posts! There are lots of characters floating around who would be more than happy to help your Candidate breech that count! Don’t forget to also UPDATE YOUR APPLICATIONS where applicable, or make sure it is submitted at all! We can’t Impress your character if we don’t know what they should be getting!

As always, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

If you haven't already, please drop by the Dragonrider Weyr Allocations thread, and let us know where your dragonriders call home. We are hoping to set up Wings across the three PC Weyrs over the next month or so, and your assistance is much appreciated! As a result, we will be looking for Wingleaders, Wingseconds, and of course Candidates for the clutches we have scheduled for this year!

August 2018

ITS AUGUST! Do you know what that means? It means its less than 4 months until Christmas! OMG.

Okay. So moving on! This month sees us (hopefully) wrapping up the Camp Kink event! Who doesn’t love an abundance of young adults exploring their sexuality without restraint? Its been a hell of a fun ride (haha get it?) so far! Can’t wait to see what the grapevine makes of it when words gets out … haha!

On a more serious note, this month will see us engaging in the Istan Wildfires! This event is a free for all! Feel free to have your characters interact with the event in any way you feel is suitable! There is a lot of room here for personal dramas, trouble making, hero worshiping, etcetera! We really want to see how characters interact with, and dictate, the outcome of the event!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

July 2018

July was July-y.

June 2018

Welcome to the new month! Like always, I'm slack in getting the update up and running, but here it is! This month we have the event 'Summer Fling' - [Link] - which is turning out to be all kinds of entertaining already! Remember, it doesn't have to include smut! It could be an innocent date with some - *gasp* - hand holding!

This month also saw Gold Bedith of Mulrissa take to the skies! She was won by young Syrendryth of T'ryn! Congrats, and may your Hatching be less dramatic than the last one! The Hatching will take place in October so you have a lot of time to get Candidates created, approved, and posting up a storm!

Those of you who are intersted, please take part in a discussion about the Plot for opening up the Healer Hall! You can find it [here].

April 2018

Well, it’s halfway through the month which shows you how awful I am at keeping this stuff up to date, haha. Due to my slackness, there is no event this month, but the month of May will be hosting ’Lost Belongings’ wherein characters should find something they – or someone else – lost.

In the meantime, gold Okalinath of Kahleena has taken to the skies! You can find her Flight thread taking place on the 4th, here Currently, there is no planned winner, so be sure to throw your bronzes and browns her way! They do not need to be natives to Telgar Weyr to participate!

March 2018

Welcome to March, my friends!

Unfortunately, this month we don’t have any events set up, so we encourage you to wrap up threads and create some personal plots! Next month will be bringing in a new monthly event (Lost Belongings!) so you can always set your character up for that! If you have ideas for future Events, you can submit them here!. Additionally, you can see upcoming events here!

Speaking of new threads, be sure to submit your threads to the IC RP Timeline submission thread, so they can be added to the list! While you’re at it, remember to submit your favourite quotes – from your character’s or others! – to the Quote Submission Thread! We want to see some recent quotes thrown in with our old ones!

January 2018

Welcome to the New Year, one and all! We hope you had an enjoyable and safe holiday season, and we can't wait to see what your characters will get up to over the next twelve months (and beyond!). The Secret Santa Event has been extended until the 30th of January, so for those of you (like me!) who were busy over the end of December, we hope you can get your threads up and running over the next few weeks! There has been a lot of interesting interactions so far! As we extended the SSE, there won't be a specific January event this month! Don't worry though, we have something up our sleeve for February!

With the end of December, our Christmas layout has gone back into hiding! You'll be able to use it again at the end of the year, when Christmas again rolls around. You can expect a new layout for the site in the near future.

December 2017

And so it is December! Can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! At any rate, we have LOTS of fun for you this month! For starters, why don’t you sign up for our Secret Santa Event! Pairs will be assigned on the 14th! You can sign your character(s) up as a Giver, a Receiver or Both! We also hope that you enjoy our Christmas layout, which will be available for use for the entire month of December! After that, it will go into hiding until next Christmas!

We will also be awarding the HORRIFYING MOMENTS stamps to those who qualified for them, as well as the WORDS OF THE MONTH for November. We hope you enjoyed these Events, and you can expect more of them in the upcoming year!

This month we will also be focusing on the RP Records, and request you submit all your threads here so we can update the Timeline! As it says in the thread, the Timeline will be updated every month, in the first week. To help us maintain, be sure to submit your threads as soon as you open them!

November 2017

Welcome to November! We'd love it if you would take the time to Vote in our Horrifying Moments threads! We will also be awarding Stamps for people who vote, not just those who took part! We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did! You can see the Stamps that will be awarded in the Horrifying Moment's thread.

This month we are doing a 'Words of the Month' event! You can choose your word/s as indicated in the thread, and may particpate with as many characters as you desire! This contest has no voting to earn stamps; you get a stamp just for participating! Enjoy!

October 2017

Welcome to October! As part of our Halloween celebrations, the Horrifying Moments event is now open! You may START a thread at any point during the month of October to qualify it for the event! We hope you have a lot of fun with this event, and we look forward to reading your threads! Don't forget to "Like" the threads you enjoy most, so we can award someone the MOST HORRIFYING stamp! Stamps will be revealed later in the month!

September 2017

Welcome to September! This month, we're working on our Awards for the site! We are also advertising avidly! Please welcome any guests or new members with all that warm charm we know you all posess! That said, we are still seeking Affiliates, so if you're here to drop an ad, please consider us!

Our next PC Clutch will be in the new year, so now is the pefect time to join with old candidates (how many clutches have they stood for now?!) and candidate hopefuls! Get those eager young men and women out there and grow them so we can match them with their perfect lifemate when the new year rolls around and one of our lovely golds throws a clutch on the Sands -- At this point in time, the Weyrs are sharing Candidates, so your Candidate can be Searched by any Weyr, and transfer to the one holding the PC clutch!

August 2017

We are officially open for our relaunch, and are excited to meet and greet new RPers! We're currently looking for all types of characters, including Weyrleaders and goldriders! But we also have lots of room for green and blueriders, weyrfolk, candidates, and all types of Hall folk, such as Masters, Journeymen and Apprentices. If you have any questions, feel free to hit us up in the Cbox or Discord chats, which can be found on the lower part of the screen.

July 2017

We are currently having an event to Create Adoptables! And encourage everyone to take part!

History is almost complete, and the profile has been re-coded. All new characters will need to go onto the new profile, but all old can keep their current! We'll begin advertising properly over the next couple of weeks, once the history has been completed, and probably after the weekend of the 8th and 9th, because that is when ThistleProse is having her birthday.

June 2017

We are on the brink of relaunching! Our history is being rewritten and cleaned up! We are accepting new members, and old! Our advertisment has been re-written, and will be put out there soon. We are also accepting affiliates of all descriptions, genres and themes! If you would like to affiliate with us, please go here
We officially have two layouts! You can post here with any issues you find, or request any changes!

May 2017

Progress has slowed down a little, due to RL events (yay promotions! Boo no internet!) but we're getting back on track! Documents are still being written and we've put together a FAQs page, though its likely to recieve a lot of adjustments as we come across things. The current goal is to have everything set up and ready by July, but we'll see how well we go at that. And by we, I mean ThistleProse. lol.

April 2017

The layout is almost complete, but there is still a lot of work to be done; documents are being written up and can be found in the Site Map menu opion. Players can begin to move their characters' information to their Account Profiles, but be aware some changes may still be made and/or added.
If you find any bugs or issues, plese repot them here, and we will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.

General Description:
Eb’zer’s eyes are green, though unless you’re in his face or they’re catching the light, they mostly appear a kind of murky hazel. They’re framed by average lashes, and messy eyebrows. Similarly, Eb'zer has soft hair, silky to the touch which falls, wavy and untamed, to the nape of his neck. He doesn’t keep it cropped short, but he also doesn’t let it grow too long. Just long enough to rake his fingers through and fiddle with when he’s studying. Eb’zer is a delicate young man; he is built with long, willowy lines and no excess weight. His limbs are long – legs, torso and arms – with delicate hands made of long, gentle fingers. He keeps his nails well-trimmed, and his hands are always clean. Eb’zer doesn’t have board shoulders, and he has very little body hair under his clothing, and not a whole lot more on his face. His hips are narrow, and his waist barely tapered – this primarily because he doesn’t have broad shoulders, meaning there is little width change between hips upwards. Despite the obvious frail and delicate appearance, Eb’zer is much stronger than he looks. He is able to lift dead weight of patients with relative ease; his core muscles are well developed and he has strong arms for holding down injured individuals from struggling or holding back panicked loved-ones. Alas, he isn’t technically fit – his strength comes from using those parts of his body, but swimming, running, or dancing are not things he could easily accomplish without fall back due to his lack of exercise as a rule. Like his body, Eb’zer’s face is delicate. He has a wide-set jaw that tapers into a defined, pointed chin. His cheekbones are high, his nose defined but small, his lips full and peach coloured and shaped like a cupid’s-bow they smile easily. Eb’zer’s eyebrows are messy, rarely getting maintained unless he’s really bored or someone points it out to him. He has almost no facial hair; while he gets a bit of fuzz on his upper lip and along his chin, there is not nearly enough to justify growing it and so he shaves regularly and carefully. As a result of this, Eb’zer has and maintains a clear baby face. As he grows through Weyrlinghood, his fitness will improve; learning how to run, swim (he’s never swum before!) as well as improving his muscle control and core strength. His body will always remain airy and delicate, with a graceful gentleness to it, but it will also grow strong with an iron core to match his Healer-Mode personality.
General Dressing Style:
Eb’zer has ever been one to dress with practicality, and a preference for comfort over fashion. That isn’t to say he wears rags, but he prioritises his comfort over being eye catching, and his general look displays this. With a tendency to wear dark colours that emphasise his long limbs, Eb’zer was teased for being a ‘shadow’, always dark and lingering on the edge of the group, taking notes and listening closely. Since Impressing, Eb’zer has found he wears more sturdy clothing, designed to withstand the antics of his Weyrling training and raising a dragon. His wardrobe has expanded to include a lot of typical dragonrider clothing, but he still carefully keeps his Healer outfits neatly to one side. Eb’zer still dresses like a shadow, but he is prone to wearing green shirts under his black vests and jackets, adding a splash of colour to his outfit. He has promised Zellekath that when her adult colouration has settled, he will have several shirts dyed to match her, and he will wear them with pride.

Personality
Likes:
Being Busy: Eb’zer loves to be busy; always there is something to do, something that needs to be done, and he is never one to be seen sitting around aimlessly or twiddling his thumbs. Hot Chocolate: Most Healers tend to live on a diet of Klah, but Eb’zer never really took to the drink, instead preferring to indulge in hot chocolate, enjoying the smooth taste and the way it warms him as he sips it. Intimacy: Contrary to his rather standoffish nature, Eb’zer loves intimacy, and not just in a sexual way. He loves being close to other, holding hands, hugging, cuddling and kisses. The people that know this, however, are very few and far between.
Strengths:
Dependable: Eb’zer is solid and dependable; while most people he interacts with know this on a work side (or lessons) he is also an extremely dependable friend and takes his friendships and the people he shares them with very seriously. He will do anything for the people he feels closest to. Organised: Everything has its place, and everything belongs in its place, thank you very much. Eb’zer always knows where his things are, and where he last put them – because he always puts them back in their correct place. Always. Prioritising: Eb’zer is particularly good at taking in a situation, whether it be a medical emergency or otherwise, and prioritising what has to happen in what order. It is a skill he seemed to come into as a child, but it was emphasised and has grown through his education in the Healer Hall. While his role as a greenrider will never have him in a position of power, when something goes wrong, Eb’zer will know how to act.
Dislikes:
Small Talk: Eb’zer can think of so many things he’d rather be doing – including enjoying silence – than partaking in small talk. If it is classified as small talk, it is not important, and thus he has no interest in whatever gossip or random chit chat it is the other person is sharing. Dramatic People: Part of being a Healer is dealing with emotional people, and that is fine, but when people take to being overly dramatic, Eb’zer loses his patience. Ranking up there with the individuals who seek to tell him how to do his job when they have no Healer knowledge, Eb’zer will deadpan tell the person he’s dealing with that they will die, if they don’t shut the fuck up. Now. Sleeping In: There is far too much to be done during the day, to spend it sleeping in! Eb’zer is someone who wakes up really early, but also goes to bed quite late. Usually clocking in at just five hours sleep on a good night, Eb’zer marches through life on a constant mission that does not include sleeping any more than absolutely required.
Flaws:
The Dark: Eb’zer has a deep-seated fear of the darkness, or rather, whatever could be hiding in the darkness. He keeps a collection of glows around his home, and within easy reach – he even keeps a small glowstone under his pillow. While Eb’zer tends to be a bit of a night-owl and stay up until far too late, he is never in the dark – if one were to step into his home in the middle of the night, they would find it lit with soft lighting that easily banishes all the shadows. Superstitious: Most likely a combination of superstition and obsessive-compulsive disorder, Eb’zer has to do many things in a particular way in order to not feel like he’s made a mess of things, or that something won’t go wrong. He often obsesses over dreams – especially if he has them before a big event, or he will look back on them with twenty-twenty vision and be sure he should have known. Despite all this, while most people know that Eb’zer can be rather peculiar and quirky, he is careful to keep his superstitious nature to himself. Blunt: Eb’zer does his best to be polite, but at the end of the day, he isn’t inclined to mincing words in order to soften the blow, preferring to simply state facts and get it over and done with. This is particularly so if he is delivering bad news while on the job, as he sees no point in lying to or trying to coddle patients.
Habits & Mannerisms:
Brusque, often to the point of appearing or seeming rude, Eb’zer doesn’t mince words, stumble, stutter or otherwise ever appear to be at odds with any situation he finds himself in. Always looking to be in control and aware of everything going on around him, Eb’zer has a solid gaze and almost always wears a serious expression.
General Personality:
Eb'zar is a very practical person, something that has done wonders for his career as a Healer. He is clearly intelligent, perhaps more so than some other people, but he isn't the type to lord himself over those who haven't had the chance to be educated and though he does think rather lowly of people who are ignorant and uninterested in bettering themselves, he will never mock someone for actually being unintelligent. Realistic, but not prone to taking things literally, Eb'zar will take the time to think things through, if it is provided for him, but is not afraid to jump in and think on the fly when time is of the essence. Taking his job seriously - people's lives depend on him - Eb'zar spent most of his time at the Healer Hall reading and studying when he wasn't actively practising his craft. As a result, Eb'zar can sound a bit like a Pernese thesaurus of Healing mumbo-jumbo when he speaks, especially if he is speaking to someone who knows their stuff; he enjoys talking wtih colleagues and learning new things from them. Healthy debates are fun, too, and he can often be seen doing exactly that with some of his favourite debaters. If asked, Eb'zar will conclude that he has learned at least as much - if not possibly more - from debating with both his fellow students and their Masters, as he has from the lectures he's attended, or the books he's read. Like being put on the spot in a medical emergency, Eb'zar has found that debates force him to think both on his feet, and outside of the box. Generally, Eb'zar is all business and no play when it comes to his bedside manner; he doesn't have time for idle chitchat or gossip with the nurses or even wtih the patients he is tending to. That isnt' to say he is cold or even unfriendly when he is around other people, simply that he considers himself busy and is honestly impatient to get all his work done, even though he'd never consider actually kicking his feet up even if he did ever get ahead of the pile.

Important History:
09.09.718 AL – Birth: After many turns of trying, Ebenzer is finally born to Ebaneish and Ezeralliah; with his mother in her forty-second turn, and his father forty-nine, Ebenzer’s birth was deemed a miracle by them both. Living within the Healer Hall, Ezeralliah was taken good care of during her pregnancy, and Ebenzer was born healthy, if a bit small and a few weeks early. 720.09.09 AL – 2 Turns: Ebenzer grew into a healthy and cheerful toddler, doted on by his parents and extended family. Due to his mother’s age and the difficulty that she had falling pregnant and keeping him, he remains an only child. 731.01.01 AL - 12 Turns: Born to a master of the craft, and raised in the Hall, it was obvious to anyone that met or knew Ebenzer that he was destined to be apprenticed. The turn he was to begin his twelfth year, Ebenzer began his apprenticeship. An honest and earnest student, he studied with great dedication and was known to shoot irritated and disgusted looks at anyone who asked stupid questions, or did not take classes seriously. 734.10.15 - 16 Turns: Shortly after his sixteenth birthday, Ebenzer had an unfortunate accident when he was out swimming on an off day with some other apprentices. Swinging from the limb of a large tree that hung over the abandoned Weyr lake, the rope broke, dropping Ebenzer onto the rocks on the edge, where he tumbled before landing in the cold waters. After his companions carried him back to the Hall, Ebenzer was diagnosed with a broken arm, a fractured ankle, and a concussion - which honestly made Ebenzer and his companions puff up proudly at correct diagnosis. Four weeks later, Ebenzer hobbled with his friends, as they Walked the Tables to become Journeymen. 737.12.30 & 19: New Turn’s Eve celebrations saw Ebenzer off duty, and at the party that was being held in the Hall. He got rather drunk if the hangover the next day was any testament, and found himself waking up with a lovely woman that he didn’t immediately recognise. To say Ebenzer was mortified would be a severe understatement. His apparent lover spent several minutes giggling wildly as she explained that nothing untoward had occurred (Ebenzer quickly realised he was still half dressed) but that he had been an absolute delight drunk, before kissing him on the forehead and slinking off. This didn’t change Ebenzer’s embarrassment all that much. 739.05.28 & 20: Just a few months before his twenty-first birthday, Ebenzer found himself at Ista Weyr, assisting with the Healers assigned to the Hatching. It was his first one, and Ebenzer was honestly absolutely thrilled to be taken along, and awed by the whole event - at least until the murderous Dragonets began their rampage. The fun event soon became obvious as to why the Healers were called in, and Ebenzer was quickly covered in blood and issuing orders to the healers that were working under him on his little team. Attempting to clean up the murdered girls and bring them off the Sands, Ebenzer was absolutely horrified/floored when a little green dragonet pressed her pretty little head against his hand, completely ensnaring his attention, his heart, and his soul in one instant of whirling brilliant eyes. 740.05.28 & 21: The first year of his life as the bonded of a dragon comes to a close and Eb’zer is no less enchanted by his little lady, but he is also rather disillusioned, too. Dragonriding is hard and he’s never done so much physical work in his life! Now, though, after hearing that Fort Weyr negotiated to enrol their candidates and riders into the Hall he came from, Eb’zer is determined to transfer to Fort upon graduation - he’s even already submitted his papers! Thus far, Zellekath hasn’t Flown, but Eb’zer knows its only a matter of time, now...

Weyrlinghood
Zellekath hatches as a plump, round little green the colour of tropical forestry. Her hide is deep green, with a tinge of blue that gives it a vibrance and depth. Her wings are swirled with a soft, minty colour that appears bright against her otherwise deeper coloured body. Her colour is not uniform, however, but rather a cross hash of various shades.
Zellekath
Adulthood
Maturing slowly, Zellekath doesn’t begin to really start seeing the adult hide changes until she’s in her twelfth month, and her colours don’t complete their change until she’s in her fifteenth month and graduating as an adult dragon. Once her change is complete, however, Zellekath hasn’t gained any new colours, so much as just a new arrangement. The tops of her wings have darkened slightly, and while her head and upper neck have retained her original darker shade of green, the bulk of her body and her tail have paled considerably – they are now coloured that soft minty colour, speckled throughout with the deeper green. Oddly, her lower legs have collected what looks like splashes of almost-white across them, as if someone has flicked paint at her. In build, Zellekath is chunkier than the average green, not so much because she’s roly-poly and overweight, but because she’s simply not designed with the thin, wafer lines of many of her colour-sisters. Rather, in fact, she looks similar in build to an average brown, with a wide chest, muscular legs, and a powerful hindquarter. While she is neither here-nor-there in terms of overall size, Zellekath’s build has helped her fall solidly into the ‘stamina’ grouping, and far less the ‘fancy flier’ grouping.
Mindvoice
Zellekath has a cheerful voice, set in the low register that doesn’t grate on the mind – for which Eb’zer is very grateful!
Personality
Zellekath is a shining beacon of joy and optimism in a rolling sea of emotional classmates. She sees the bright side of every occasion, every event, every moment. There are no storm clouds in Zellekath’s life, and there likely never will be.
Quirks
Habits/Mannerisms: Zellekath likes to sing, vocally. She hums, chirps, squeaks, barks, any sound in any order that creates a ‘song’, which she often adds words to mentally, in a voice she broadcasts just loud enough to be heard by anyone that listens but isn’t quite loud enough to be overly annoying to anyone out there. Likes: Puzzles: Zellekath loves puzzles! She’s found that Eb’zer is absolutely filled puzzles and games, and while it has taken them quite a while to figure out how to not accidentally mind-share the answers, Zellekath has developed a habit of asking Eb’zer unique questions, or prompting him to create a riddle for her to solve. Eating Flowers: Dragons are carnivores, granted, but Zellekath has taken a fancy to eating flowers. Her favourites are sunflowers, with all their seeds and bright yellow petals. Some flowers she’s tried have been rather disgusting and she spits them out right away, others have been tasty, but nothing beats sunflowers! Dislikes: Eb’zer’s Conflict : Zellekath knows that Eb’zer doesn’t regret her decision to Impress to him, or feel in any way that he’s unhappy with their bond. What she doesn’t like, though, is the way he feels conflicted and confused about his future. He has always known who he is and what he will be; her Impression to him changed that, not for the worse, but the change is new to him. Zellekath does her best to help him move through his conflict and focus on each of their milestones as a pair. Strengths: Cheerful: Zellekath is a cheerful creature, and this is echoed through all her actions and her general day to day life. Her eyes are far more often coloured with the positive emotions she experiences each day, and her voice is like the soft bubble of a brook through the forest; low, calming, and filled to the brim with basic joy that comes from being alive and taking part in every moment of every day.
