Ista is heating up swiftly, and preparing for a rough summer - hopefully nothing like the one from a couple turns before with the wildfires! The rest of Northern Pern is warming upsomewhat slower, but with no less gusto as summer begins to creep into the sky, keeping the sun awake longer, warming the ledges of the weyrs. Rainstorms are sporadic, but keep the world well watered, despite the heat of the days.
The Red Star can be seen by those who choose to see it, causing no shortage of whispers that Thread will return - and just as much dismissal from those who do not believe. After all, it's been so long, surely it is no longer a threat! Weyrleaders are, regardless, beginning to put together wings in their Weyrs, if only to keep troublesome and bored riders busy.
Winter -3 - 2 C | 26 - 35 F
Fort is already home to snowfalls, though early in the month they fade away when the sun rises. As the month progresses, more snow stays on the ground, ending up with several feet of snow before the month is over. The areas around homes and populations has the snow shoveled away or trodden down. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove some danger and are routinely removed.
Ista Boundaries:
Winter, 9 - 21 C | 48 - 69 F
Generally warm enough to go about without a jacket on, Ista has low humidity but high chance of rain, generally in the form of vicious afternoon thunderstorms. The storms wash away any bite of heat the day had, and leave it feeling fresh for the night. The days are short, but grow bright quickly and the afternoons seem to be particularly short when heavy thunderstorms roll in and cover the sky.
Telgar Boundaries:
Winter, -5 - 0 C | 23 - 32 F
Bitterly cold, with icy winds constantly flowing down from the mountains. Freezing rain is almost constant; the sky always a murky grey and the ground slippery with slushy refrozen ice. The days are extremely short, with the nights dropping a good number below the daily average. Icicles attached to Weyr ledges prove a major danger, and are checked upon every day, with anything bigger than a fist being removed.
Summer 27 - 38 C | 80 - 100 F
Light breezes down from the mountains tot he North keep the temperature comfortable, even when the sun can bake an egg on the edge of a weyr. Sunburn is common.
Ista Boundaries:
Summer, 34 - 43 C | 93 - 110 F
A very dry, dusty heat. Little to no rain, causing more than some to worry about the drought not breaking and the rest of the Isle being at risk of fires. Many seek the depths of weyr, hold or hall during the midday and early afternoon heat.
Telgar Boundaries:
Summer, 26 - 35 C | 79 - 95 F
Muggy, sticky and generally just plain humid. Thunder storms are regular occurances, often happening in the early afternoon or evening, with heavy rainfall before drying off sometime in the night. Mornings are usually crisp, but warm up swiftly.

Spring has sprung, with the snow slowly melting in much of the North, creating mushy grounds and greyish, icy snow piles that are doing their best to melt. In comparison, Ista finds itself naturally warmer, (~10C / 50) and many people who can find rides are making their way to the Island to spend some time in warmth and sunshine, away from the lingering touch of winter.
Katila is beginning to cool down to more reasonable temperature, but is no less muggy and uncomfortable to those who are not used to the seasons. It is still a good place to escape to when seeking a warm day or a nice swim at the lake, though.

Winter has come slowly to the Northern lands of Pern, with more rain and cold winds than snow. As the month progresses, more and more snow will fall, with frequent blizzard-like storms towards the very end of the month. Telgar and Fort will in particular become burried under mountains of snow, while Ista is sunjected to frequent icy rainstorms, and heavy winds coming in from across the ocean.

Following the disastrous fires (sometime in around the 28th of Month 08), Ista Isle has found itself suddenly in the midst of constant rain; not enough to flood, but a steady, dreary downfall that seems to only take a time out for a couple of hours here and there, before coming back again. Its cast the entire sooty Isle into a sombre and depressed mood. Alongside the rain, the weather is muggy and while not hot, is not particularly cool, either.
The rest of Northern Pern is getting their usual weather, though they, too, have been called to action following the wildfires that savaged Ista. Many individuals who called Ista Island home have been relocated not just to Ista Weyr, Ista Hold or Sea Cliff Hold, but also to other areas of Pern, whether with family or friends.

Ista is still unseasonably warm - 37 to 45 C - has resulted in an incredibly dry summer, with little to no rain. This was climaxed by a dry thunderstorm, the results of which caused three fires to start across the Island on the 24.07.739 in the early morning hours. While the results of this are yet to be played out, the events will no doubt leave more than just the scarring of the land.

Ista is still unseasonably warm, with average weather being in the 37 to 45 C range, making it now a more than slightly undesirable escape for the rest of the Northern population from the more enjoyable early summer weather. There has been very little in the way of rain, though the coastal areas are no stranger to the salty wind. Ista's limited farmlands and fields are dry and dusty, with golden straw instead of grass where there is any growth at all.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Northern areas are still getting a lot of evening rain and the occasional thunderstorms, which cools down the populus and allows them to sleep easily without sweating their brains out like the Istans.

Autumn is coming to an end, with the days slowly becoming shorter still, with early nights and late mornings. The temperature is getting very cool, with jackets being more required, but it has yet to actually snow. Despite this, it is often raining and miserable.
The Southern contient is in full bloom, with flowers coming to life in the grasses and on the trees. The skies are bright blue with fluffy clouds, and occassional sunshowers bringing a dampness to the day. The nights are still crisp, but not cold. The ground is starting to dry up as water is absorbed by the blooming flora.
North: Mid Autumn | South: Mid Spring
Autumn is in full tilt, with the leaves a shocking array of orange and red, and more of them on the ground than on the trees. The skies are often a clear and crisp blue, with a cool breeze flowing, shifting the leaves and sending them scattering. Rain is not common, but when it does roll in the skies are dark like night come early, and thunderstorms are not uncommon, though they don't last for long and the amount of rain that falls isn't too heavy.

Nothern regions are entering into Autumn, with the trees beginning to change to their reds and oranges, while the air is beginning to feel more crips. There are still more warm days than cool, and the nights are mostly warm enough for light bedding still. Rain has faded away and most days are clear and bright.
The Southern contient finds itself heading into spring, with rain and flowers vying for attention. The ground is often muddy and squishy, while the skies are either bright and blue, or overcast wtih fluffy clouds.
North: End Summer | South: End Winter
Summer is winding to an end in the Northern hemisphere, with the weather slowly cooling and the trees beginning to turn their leaves. The days are still long and bright, but the sun is beginning to lose some of its strength.
The coastal Weyrs are falling victim to coastal storms, strong winds and heavy rains with thunder and lightening.
The more inbound Weyrs and Holds find themselves drier, not getting nearly as much rain or storms, they find themselves on the end of a long drought.
North: Mid Summer | South: Mid Winter
Summer is in full spring in the Nothern hemisphere, with the bulk of each day being unbearbly hot, followed by vicious thunderstorms and heavy humidity in the evenings and at night.
The coastal areas are experiencing monsoon like weather, and spend a lot of their time locked away in Hold, Hall or Weyr.
The more inner locations find themselves faced with more dry heat during the day, and horrible humidity in the evening and at night while the thunderstorms rage.

While he isn't as muscled as his brothers, due to working in the house or the hold more than in the mines, he still maintains some athleticism. He has managed to avoid the persistent cough that plagues most mining families, again due to spending little time in the mines themselves.

Sleeping In: In the Weyr he doesn't have as many set chores as he did at home, and takes every opportunity to sleep in. Misharan is a very groggy person in the morning, barely managing coherent sentences without klah (or dunking his head in water).
Writing: He's no Harper, but among miners he has nice handwriting, and he got a good number of marks growing up in exchange for writing things for people in his nice handwriting. He takes pride in his writing because of that.
Reliable: Once he's committed to do something, he will see it through no matter what. Obstacles only make Misharan more determined to overcome them and complete his task.
Thankful: Misharan always keeps track of who's done him a good turn, and tries his best to repay the favor when the opportunity arises.
Boring People: Misharan has fairly set ideas about what classifies someone as 'boring' or 'worth his time,' and he does his best to avoid the former whenever possible.
Children: He's a youngest child and has therefore never built up a tolerance to babies or toddlers, and anyone younger than 10 turns makes him panic a little bit.
Materialistic: Misharan's family put everything they had towards getting as many sons as possible into the Minecraft Hall, so he didn't have many 'nice' belongings growing up, so nowadays he gleefully collects things, even utterly useless baubles just because he can. He puts great importance in his collection and is rather protective towards it and a bit impulsive when it comes to adding new items.
He can be a bit of a contrary bastard, and telling him 'no you can't' will only make him say 'fuck you, I can' and proceed to go do it (or fail spectacularly in the attempt).
Secretly, he's a bit of a romantic and would like to find 'the one,' but he's also currently content to be a flight moth for the rest of his life (hopefully eventually with a dragon).

718 AL & 1 Turn: The second oldest son, Marlan, spends more time helping around the house with the younger children (to the extent an 11 turn old child can help). Mandar also helped out, though Sharlan did not, as he was busy with his Minecraft apprenticeship.
719 AL & 2 Turns: The family has enough money to send another son to the crafthall, so Marlan is apprenticed and Mandar starts spending even more time helping out at home.
721 AL & 4 Turns: Marlan dies in a mining accident. Misharan is still too young to fully grasp what has happened to his older brother and is rather distraught that he keeps not coming home. Mandar is given his minecraft apprenticeship position.
723 AL & 6 Turns: Eldest brother Sharlan married the daughter of a master minecrafter. Misharan overheard him telling Mandar it was more about gaining access to the master minecrafter than being in love with his new wife.
724 AL & 7 Turns: A family argument breaks out, as Shindil is now old enough to become a mincrafter apprentice. Unfortunately, the family does not have the funds to send another child to the crafthall. Shindil, determined, starts doing odd jobs to make some extra money.
725 AL & 8 Turns: His older brother Shindil decides Misharan needs to be taught how to fight. All of the siblings are fairly delicate, including the boys, and Sharlan, Mandar, and Shindil (and Marlan) all had to deal with some trouble from other boys for lack of manliness. Sharlan, the eldest, learned that fighting back, and well, tended to work, and had passed on what he learned to Marlan and Mandar, who taught Shindil. Misharan thought it was good fun, and took to fighting with enthusiasm.
727 AL & 10 Turns: Between family funds and Shindil's side jobs, they can afford for him to enter the Minecraft Hall. Misharan is a bit disappointed, as Shindil was his favorite sibling.
729 AL & 12 Turns: By this point, Misharan is fairly sure he's much more interested in boys than girls. Based on how his grandmother talks about such things, he keeps it hidden, as he rather likes being fed and housed by his family.
Sharlan's first child is born late in the turn. Misharan doesn't care much about being an uncle.
730 AL & 13 Turns: Mandar gets married to the daughter of a baker. Misharan is allowed to start keeping the family books, as well as running messages around the mine (he has nicer handwriting than most miners, so he makes a few marks writing letters and such for other people)
731 AL & 14 Turns: Their father is looking to marry off Shaliya, and she is eventually found a husband in the form of Jr. Journeyman minecrafter, a friend of Mandar's. Shaliya is pleased with Mandar's choice, relieved it wasn't left to their father. Misharan is highly relieved he isn't a girl.
733 AL & 16 Turns: Shindil gets married, leaving Misharan as the last unmarried sibling, as well as the only one remaining in the house with his father and grandmother. He hates it. All the more time for his grandmother to focus on his flaws. He gets some respite because he does get a proper job that turn, as an assistant bookkeeper for the mines. Didn't require any special mine training, just an ability to do math, which Misharan had.
735 AL & 18 Turns: His grandmother dies of a minor illness. Misharan is conflicted about it, as he felt like she was always criticizing him and he had to hide a lot of himself from her, but she did help raise him.
736 AL & 19 Turns: Misharan is Searched by blue Ayyonth and R'nd a scant few days after Turn End. As he is the youngest child and not a member of the Minecraft himself, he is allowed to go with little issue. Misharan himself is ecstatic at the prospect of weyrlife and Impressing a dragon, but maintains a quiet dignity so as not to reveal too much to his family, who all come by to see him off, as well as uphold appearances - can't seem too enthusiastic. By the end of the year, he has settled in at Telgar, Standing at every clutch that turn without Impressing. He is disappointed, but still finds weyrlife to be much better than living in a mining hold, so it doesn't bother him overly much.
737-738 AL & 20-21 Turns: He spends the next two turns Standing (unsuccessfully) and getting to know the Weyr and weyrlife better (Read: sleeping around).
739 AL & 22 Turns: Becomes best friends with Mylorah and Kordiavis. He also coins the term 'sex klah' after Casa's infamous camping trip.
740 AL & 23 Turns: Impresses one of the sickly dragonets from Thallyath's maiden clutch, a possessive blue named Dyoricath.

It will take months for Dyoricath to begin to healthily put on weight; it will appear to take longer than it should, for all the nutrients are going straight into his growth, resulting in a constantly growing, but horrifically skinny dragon. His hide will liven up, however; it will become healthy and catch the light as it should, and will stop flaking away.
In colour, Dyoricath is every ounce a blue; his hide has the quality of a midnight sky, as the moon begins to rise. His feet and underbelly are a deep inky blue, which slowly lightens to a more greyish blue across the length of his wings, and the fork of his tail. The sails of his wings are molted, as if a pale blue fought to take control, but lost, like clouds flung thin through the evening sky.

To look at, Dyoricath is blue, yes, but just barely. His hide is so dark as to be almost black and so saturated as to be almost grey. His hide is marbled, with the soft pale grey-blue of clouds spread thin across his body, with marbled lines over the surface of his wings. In exchange, the undersides of Dyoricath’s wings are almost as dark as the depths of between.
Clingy and insecure, Dyoricath needs Misharan. He needs him physically near as often as possible, but also mentally near. He needs to know he’s wanted, loved, treasured, and above all the one and only creature Misharan needs in his life. The fact that Misharan is popular is something that causes Dyoricath intense discomfort -- he simply cannot handle that Misharan has more than enough love and affection for everyone and Dyoricath. How can Misharan have enough for everyone, when Dyoricath has only enough for Misharan?
When he isn’t quite literally breathing down Misharan’s neck, Dyoricath is sassy, entertaining, and a dragon who has personality in spades. While it will take him a long time - quite literally Turns - to feel comfortable around company that isn’t Misharan, Dyoricath will eventually not be completely and utterly dependant on Misharan… maybe. Should that time come, those who know Dyoircath will find him to be a very spunky blue, who has a great deal of fun entertaining himself, Misharan, and anyone they consider a friend. Indeed, Dyoricath has a special talent for telling outlandish stories (usually fueled by interesting truths, but embellished so much no one would believe they were thus inspired) as well as ridiculous and hilarious enactments.
While some humans tend to gesticulate wildly when they speak, so does Dyoricath. There is absolutely nothing subtle about this dragon, and he makes no attempts to pretend otherwise. That isn’t to say that Dyoricath goes around yelling, (although that isn’t unknown) but he will grow into a friendly and personable dragon, given the right encouragement. That isn’t to say that he will stop being possessive - he won’t - or clingy (dream on) or utterly petty when something doesn’t go his way. But he can be encouraged to have more friends in his life, than just Misharan. If only for Misharan’s own sanity, and his precious sex life.
Likes:
Security: The warmth, the reassurance, the love he feels radiating from Misharan wrap around Dyoricath and warm him, the way a fire warms the toes of a weary traveler. Dyoricath doesn’t just like security, though. He needs it.
Dislikes:
Misharan’s Social Circles: People, firelizards, other dragons, even Misharan’s dreams can cause Dyoricath to seethe with jealousy and rage.
Strengths:
Entertaining: When he isn’t busy keeping everyone and everything away from Misharan, Dyoricath has a great talent for crowd control in the form of entertainment. Of course, for those not affected by his possessiveness, that can be a whole other type of entertaining. But the dragon has every element needed to be the Class Clown.
Flaws:
